EDD Account Locked Out - Can't Reset Password Without Last Payment Amount. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with unemployment. I got fired and now I'm trying to file a claim, but I can't even access my account. The system is asking for my last payment amount to reset my password, but I have no clue what it is. Anyone been through this? Any tips on how to get through to a real person at the unemployment office?

Ugh, been there done that. The unemployment system is a total nightmare. Have you tried calling their helpline? Be prepared to wait for hours tho 🙄

Yeah, I've been trying to call but it's always busy. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Sometimes you can get through faster that way.

Calling when they open doesn't always work. I tried that for a week straight and still couldn't get through. The system is just broken af 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play 🤷‍♀️

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure! You just go to the website, choose the department you need to call, pay the fee, and they start calling for you. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. Saved me a whole day of being on hold.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Try the password reset option on the website first. If that doesn't work: 2. Call the EDD customer service number (1-800-300-5616) as soon as they open at 8am. 3. If you can't get through, keep trying throughout the day. 4. You can also try their online contact form, but responses can be slow. 5. If all else fails, consider visiting an in-person EDD office if there's one near you. Remember, patience is key. The system is overwhelmed, but keep at it and you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try calling right when they open tomorrow.

This is great advice. I'd add that using the contact form worked for me after about a week of waiting. It's slow but it does work eventually.

have you tried contacting your local representative? sometimes they can help push things through faster

Man, the EDD is such a joke. They make it impossible to get help when you need it most. The whole system needs an overhaul 😡

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're purposely making it difficult

ikr? its like they forget were actual people with bills to pay

Quick question - when you say you got fired, was it for misconduct? That could affect your claim. Make sure you're prepared to explain the situation when you do get through.

0 coins

No, it wasn't for misconduct. Just a company restructure. But thanks for bringing that up, I'll make sure to explain that clearly.

Good point. Always be honest about the circumstances. They'll find out anyway and lying can really mess up your claim.

Hey OP, hang in there. I know it sucks rn but you'll get through this. Don't give up! 💪
