Can't reset EDD password for disability claim - no employment dates. Help!
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment office. I need to log in to file a disability claim, but I can't reset my password because I don't remember the dates of my prior employment or the last time I received an unemployment check. I've tried calling them, but they just hang up on me or say they have no availability. It's like they don't want to help at all. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get through to a real person or reset my password without those specific details?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The unemployment system is a total nightmare rn. Have you tried going to the office in person? Sometimes that's the only way to get actual help.

•I haven't tried that yet. Do you know if I need an appointment or can I just walk in?

•Last time I went, it was walk-in only. But that was a few months ago, so maybe double check their website just in case things changed. Good luck!

•Be prepared to wait ALL day if you go in person. Bring a book, snacks, and a portable charger. Trust me, you'll need em 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I've used it twice now. Worked both times. Expensive, but worth it if you're in a bind.

•Wait, we have to PAY to talk to a government agency now? That's messed up. 🤦♂️

•I get it, it sucks we have to pay. But for me, it was worth the $20 to actually get my issue resolved instead of wasting days trying to get through.

Have you tried using the online chat feature on the unemployment website? Sometimes it's easier to get help there than over the phone.

This is why we need serious reform in our unemployment system. It's a joke that people can't access the benefits they're entitled to. We should be flooding our representatives' offices with complaints about this!

•Lol good luck with that. Politicians don't care about us regular folks 🤡

Here's what I did when I was in a similar situation: 1. Gather any old tax documents, W-2 forms, or bank statements that might show employment dates or unemployment payments. 2. Call your previous employers and ask for exact employment dates. 3. Check your email for any correspondence from the unemployment office that might have dates. 4. If all else fails, make your best guess on the dates. Sometimes they'll let you in with approximate info. 5. If you get locked out, keep calling and explain your situation. Eventually, you'll get someone who can help reset your account. It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of every call you make, who you talk to, and what they say. It can help if you need to escalate your case later.

I'm in the same boat, been trying to file for disability for weeks now. The whole system is a dumpster fire. Solidarity, friend. 😔
