PA UC Account Lockout Loop - Reset Password Not Working
Ok so I'm about ready to throw my laptop out the window! Been trying to file a new claim on the PA unemployment website since YESTERDAY morning and I keep getting locked out of my account. I've reset my password like 4 times now and each time it lets me log in for about 30 seconds before kicking me back out. Then I have to go through the whole reset process again! Wasted almost 4 hours going in circles with this stupid system. Called the UC number probably 20+ times but it's either busy or I get disconnected right away. Anyone else dealt with this account lockout nightmare? Any tricks to actually STAY logged in long enough to file my claim?? Really need to get this filed ASAP since I lost my job last week.

This is a known issue with the PA UC system that's been happening since they updated the website in January. The problem is likely because your browser is caching old login credentials. Try these steps: 1. Clear your browser cache completely 2. Use a different browser entirely (if you're using Chrome, try Firefox) 3. Make sure you're not using autofill for the password 4. When you reset your password, wait a full 30 minutes before trying to log in again The system needs time to fully process the reset across all their servers. If you try logging in too quickly after a reset, it can create a conflict in their system that triggers the lockout loop.

•Thanks for the tips! I cleared my cache in Chrome and it still locked me out, but I just tried using Microsoft Edge and I was able to stay logged in long enough to start the application! Only problem is now I'm stuck on the employment history page - it keeps saying "error processing request" when I try to add my last employer. Should I wait a while before trying again or start the whole application over?

OMG THE EXACT SAME THING is happening to me!!!! 😡😡😡 I've been locked out for THREE DAYS!!! I've reset my password SIX TIMES and it still kicks me out! Called unemployment like 50 times and can't get through to ANYONE!! This system is COMPLETE GARBAGE. They don't want us to get our benefits so they make it IMPOSSIBLE to even FILE!!!

I had this exact problem back in February. The password reset loop is a nightmare. What finally worked for me was using the "Forgot Username" option instead of the password reset. For some reason, getting a fresh username broke the cycle and let me stay logged in. Also, make sure you're accessing the site directly from www.uc.pa.gov and not from any bookmarked pages or links from emails.

•I'll try the username reset option if it locks me out again! Right now I'm attempting to finish my application in Edge browser but it's moving sooooo slow. Every page takes like 2 minutes to load.

•I didn't think about trying my phone! That's a good idea, I'll give it a shot if the Edge browser stops working. And no VPN here, just regular home wifi.

When I had this problem, I found out that trying to reach PA UC by phone was actually possible using Claimyr. I was skeptical at first, but it connected me to an agent in under 20 minutes after I'd spent days trying on my own. The agent was able to unlock my account properly from their end and explained it was a server-side issue that needed admin access to fix. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 or just go to claimyr.com. It was the only thing that actually solved the problem for me.

•Does this actually work?? At this point I'll try ANYTHING because I'm going on day 4 of not being able to file!

One other thing worth mentioning is that sometimes the system has backend maintenance windows (typically Tuesday nights from what I've observed) where account behavior gets really buggy. If you're experiencing the lockout issue during off-hours, try again during regular business hours (8am-4pm weekdays) when their full technical staff is available and system resources aren't being used for maintenance.

•Update: I finally got my claim filed! Had to use a combination of Edge browser, clearing all cookies, AND using the "forgot username" option as suggested above. For anyone else having this problem - definitely try different browsers and the username reset rather than just password reset. Now fingers crossed my claim gets processed without any "open issues"...

Thank you everyone for all the help! Wanted to update that I got my claim filed successfully using Edge browser and the username reset method. What worked for me: 1. Used Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome 2. Did the "Forgot Username" process instead of password reset 3. Made sure to type my password manually (no autofill) 4. Cleared cookies before starting The system is definitely buggy but I was finally able to complete everything. Now just waiting for my claim to process!

•Great to hear you got it sorted! For future reference, if you do run into any issues where you need to speak with an actual UC rep, that Claimyr service I mentioned is a lifesaver. Took me from weeks of trying to reach someone to less than a day.
