Submitted supporting docs to EDD - what's next and how long is the wait?
Hey everyone, I just wanted to check if anyone else is in the same boat as me. I sent in some supporting documents they asked for and I'm wondering what's next. Has anyone gone through this process recently? How long did it take for them to get back to you after submitting the docs? I'm getting a bit anxious waiting for the next steps.

I'm in the exact same situation! Sent in my docs about 2 weeks ago and haven't heard a peep. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on or how long it'll take. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!

•2 weeks? That's nothing lol. I've been waiting for over a month now. The system is so backed up, it's ridiculous 🙄

•A month?! Oh man, that's rough. I guess I better settle in for a long wait then. Thanks for the heads up!

•Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I waited almost 3 months before I heard anything back. The waiting game is brutal.

Pro tip: call them! I know it's a pain to get through, but I finally managed to speak with someone after trying for days. They were able to confirm they received my docs and give me an estimate on processing time. It's worth the hassle to get some peace of mind.

•Easier said than done! I've been trying to call for weeks and can never get through. Any tricks to actually reach a human?

•I feel you! It took me forever too. I found that calling right when they open in the morning gave me the best chance. Also, I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Wait, you paid money to make a phone call? That sounds sketchy af. Is it even legal?

•I know it sounds weird, but it's legit! They're not affiliated with the government, just a service that does the waiting for you. Saved me hours of frustration, so it was worth it for me. But yeah, do your research first!

Ugh, I'm so tired of this whole process. Sent in my docs MONTHS ago and still nothing. Called multiple times, each rep tells me something different. It's like they're playing hot potato with our lives 😤

Here's what I've learned from my experience and talking to others: 1. After submitting docs, it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months for processing. Yeah, it's a huge range, I know. 2. If you haven't heard back after a month, definitely try to call. Be persistent! 3. Check your online account regularly. Sometimes they update it without notifying you. 4. If you're really stuck, reach out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite things. 5. Make sure you've submitted ALL required docs. Missing even one can delay the whole process. 6. Keep copies of everything you send in. You'd be surprised how often they 'lose' things. Hang in there, everyone. I know it's frustrating, but eventually, it does get sorted out. Don't give up!

•This is super helpful, thanks for sharing! 🙏 Wish they'd just tell us all this upfront instead of leaving us in the dark.

•Great advice! I'd add: document every call you make. Get the rep's name and ID number if possible. It's saved my butt more than once when following up.

Am I the only one who thinks this whole system is designed to make us give up? 🤔 It's like they're hoping we'll just forget about it if they ignore us long enough.

•Nah, I think it's just underfunded and overwhelmed. Still sucks for us tho

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing them? I heard it might be faster, but idk if that's just an urban legend at this point lol

•I actually tried this! It did seem to go through faster, but make sure you keep the fax confirmation. They still managed to 'lose' my docs once 🙄
