Sent docs weeks ago, no update from EDD. Should I close my account?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get an update on some documents I sent in. I've been waiting for a while and haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else had this problem? How long did it take for you to get a response? I'm thinking about closing my account if this keeps dragging on. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. Sent in my docs and it's like they disappeared into a black hole. No updates, no nothing. It's so frustrating!

Same here! Its been over a month for me. I swear they must have a team of snails 🐌 processing these documents

A month? You're lucky. I've been waiting for 3 months now. Starting to think my docs got lost in the mail or something.

3 months?! That's insane. Have you tried calling them? I mean, I know it's practically impossible to get through, but still...

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Wait, what? $20 just to talk to someone? That seems kinda sketchy...

I know it sounds weird, but I was desperate. It actually worked tho. Got through in like an hour instead of spending all day trying to call.

Hmm, interesting. How does it work exactly? Do they just keep redialing or something?

Nah, it's more high-tech than that. They use some kind of AI to navigate the phone menu and detect when a real person picks up. Then it calls you. Saved me a ton of time and frustration.

Before you close your account, try reaching out to them on social media. Sometimes they respond faster there. Also, check your spam folder - I found my update buried there after weeks of waiting!

Honestly, the whole system is a joke. They expect us to jump through hoops and then ghost us for months. It's like they're playing some sick game with our lives. 🤬

Preach! 🙌 I swear they must be using carrier pigeons to process our documents

LOL carrier pigeons would probably be faster at this point 😂

Here's what I've learned from my experience dealing with document updates: 1. Always keep copies of everything you send. 2. Send documents via certified mail if possible. 3. Follow up every 2 weeks via phone or email. 4. Document all your interactions (dates, names of reps you spoke to). 5. Be persistent but polite. 6. If all else fails, contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes expedite things. It's a frustrating process, but hang in there. Closing your account might cause more problems down the line. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try following up more regularly. Did contacting your rep actually help?

0 coins

Yeah, it did! My rep's office has a dedicated person who deals with these issues. They got things moving within a week after I'd been waiting for months.

have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds like we're back in the 90s, but sometimes it works better than email or snail mail.

0 coins

omg yes! Faxing is like a secret cheat code for dealing with bureaucracy. It's so old school that it actually works 😅

Whatever you do, DON'T close your account! It'll just create more headaches. Trust me, I learned this the hard way. 😩
