EDD Claim Payment Approval Taking Forever - What Can I Do?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get an update on my claim payment approval. I filed a while back and haven't heard anything. Has anyone else been in this situation? How long did it take for you to get a response or approval? I'm getting a bit worried and could use some advice on what to do next.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for MONTHS to hear back about my claim. It's like they just threw it into a black hole or something. Have you tried calling them? That's what I did, but be prepared to wait on hold forever.

Calling is the worst! I spent 3 hours on hold last week and then got disconnected 🤬 This system is so broken

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in like 20 minutes that way!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you explain more about how it works? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

Yeah, basically they have a system that navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls you. Super simple!

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about claim payment approvals: 1. Processing times vary wildly depending on your state and the complexity of your claim. 2. Most states aim to process claims within 21 days, but it can take much longer. 3. If it's been more than 3 weeks, definitely try to contact them. 4. Check your online account regularly for updates or requests for additional info. 5. Make sure you've submitted all required documents - missing paperwork is a common holdup. 6. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing or using their online contact form. 7. Some states have social media teams that can help - worth a shot on Twitter or Facebook. 8. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating but keep at it!

Not sure if this helps, but I had success by going to my local unemployment office in person. The wait was long, but I got answers and they were able to push my claim through.

This! Face-to-face is always better if you can manage it. They can't ignore you when you're right there lol

That's a great idea, I didn't even think of that. Is it best to make an appointment or just show up?

I just showed up, but if they offer appointments where you are, that might be better. Bring all your docs just in case!
