How to check EDD claim status and payment info? Submitted 3 weeks ago, no updates
Hey everyone, I submitted a claim a while back and I'm trying to get an update on its status. Anyone know how to check if the payment will be sent out? I've been waiting for what feels like forever and I'm getting worried. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel ya. The waiting game is the worst. Have you tried calling them? That's usually the fastest way to get an update.

•I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

•Same here. I swear their phone lines are always busy on purpose 🙄

•Yeah, it's a total nightmare. I've had better luck calling first thing in the morning, like right when they open. Might be worth a shot!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•Sure! You just put in your phone number and pick which dept you need to reach. They call and navigate the menu, then transfer to you when a human picks up. No guarantee, but it worked for me first try.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually send out any notifications.

I've been in the same boat, waiting for weeks. It's ridiculous how long it takes. I finally got through on the phone after calling 50+ times, and they told me there was a "processing delay." Whatever that means. 🙄

•Processing delay is their fancy way of saying "we're swamped and understaffed" lol

•Lmao you're probably right. Wish they'd just be straight with us tho

Ok, here's what I've learned from dealing with this system for way too long: 1. Online updates are hit or miss. Check, but don't rely on them. 2. Calling is your best bet, but it's a pain. Try early mornings or late afternoons. 3. If you can't get through, try the callback option if they have one. 4. Sometimes sending a message through their online portal can work, but responses are slow. 5. If all else fails, contact your local representative. They can sometimes expedite things. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

•Fr fr. We pay into this system our whole working lives and then when we need it, it's nothing but obstacles.

Hey OP, when exactly did you submit your claim? There's been some changes to processing times recently.

•It's been about 3 weeks now. Are the processing times longer or shorter with the changes?

•Oof, 3 weeks is pushing it. They said they were speeding things up, but I'm hearing mixed results. Might be time to start calling.

Pro tip: if you're gonna call, use a landline if possible. For some reason, I always have better luck getting through on my home phone than my cell. 🤷♂️

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them or messaging on Facebook can get a response. Worth a shot!

•I second this! Got a response within a day when I tweeted at them. Way faster than phone or email.
