How to check EDD claim status and payment date?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check my claim status and find out when I'll get paid. Anyone know the best way to do this? I've been waiting for what feels like forever and I'm getting worried.

Logging into your EDD account online is usually the quickest way to check your claim status. There should be updates or messages about your claim there. If you're having trouble understanding the info, let me know and I can try to help!

ā¢This ^^^ EDD's website is actually pretty good for checking status. Just make sure you have your login info handy!

ā¢Yeah, the online portal is def the way to go. Way faster than calling and dealing with those endless hold times š

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢Woah, that sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

ā¢Idk man, paying to get through seems sketchy. No offense, but are you sure it's legit?

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. I was desperate and took a chance. Waited about 2 hours, but didn't have to deal with the frustration of redialing. Totally worth it for me.

Pro tip: check early in the morning or late at night. The system updates overnight, so you might catch new info before the rush š

ā¢This is solid advice! I always check first thing when I wake up. It's like Christmas morning... if Christmas was really stressful and potentially disappointing lol

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help speed things up or get answers from EDD. Worth a shot if you're really stuck!

ā¢I second this! My assembly member's office was super helpful when I had issues. Def give it a try, OP!

Listen up, folks. I've been through the EDD wringer and here's what I've learned: ⢠Always, ALWAYS keep copies of everything you submit ⢠Set up email notifications for your EDD account ⢠Check your spam folder regularly ⢠If you can't get through on the phone, try their social media accounts ⢠Be patient but persistent Remember, the system is overloaded, but keep at it. You'll get your money eventually!

ā¢I'm convinced the whole system is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels at this point š¹

I totally get your frustration! Here's what worked for me when I was in the same boat: 1. Log into your EDD online portal first thing in the morning (around 6-7 AM) - that's when updates usually show up 2. Look for the "Claim Summary" section - it'll show your benefit year, weekly benefit amount, and claim balance 3. Check the "Payment History" tab to see if any payments are pending or issued 4. If there are any issues, they'll usually show up under "Inbox" with specific instructions Also, make sure your contact info and direct deposit details are up to date! I've seen people miss payments because their bank info was wrong. The waiting is seriously the worst part, but hang in there - most claims do get processed eventually. Keep us posted on what you find out! š¤

ā¢This is super helpful, thanks! I'm definitely going to try checking early in the morning like you suggested. I had no idea the system updates overnight - that explains why I never see changes when I check during the day. Really appreciate you taking the time to break it all down step by step! š

Just wanted to add that if you're still having trouble after checking online, you can also try the EDD mobile app - sometimes it loads faster than the website, especially during peak hours. I've noticed that payment dates usually show up 1-2 days before the money actually hits your account, so don't panic if you see a date but don't get paid immediately. Also, if your claim shows "pending" for more than a few weeks, that's when I'd definitely try calling or reaching out to your assembly member like others mentioned. The system is definitely frustrating but most people do eventually get their payments sorted out!

ā¢Great point about the mobile app! I didn't even know EDD had one. And yeah, that delay between seeing the payment date and actually getting the money is nerve-wracking - good to know that's normal. Thanks for the heads up about the "pending" timeline too. This whole thread has been so helpful for someone like me who's new to navigating all this EDD stuff!

Hey Isabella! I went through this exact same thing a few months ago and I totally feel your stress. Here's what helped me figure out my payment timeline: If you log into your EDD account, look for a section called "Claim Status" or "Payment Information" - it should show you if your payments are "Issued," "Pending," or if there are any holds on your account. One thing that really helped me was setting up text notifications through the EDD portal. They'll send you updates when your payment status changes, which saved me from obsessively checking the website every hour (guilty as charged lol). Also, if you're on Paid Family Leave specifically, payments usually come on the same day of the week that you first got approved, but it can take 2-3 business days to actually show up in your bank account after EDD says it's "issued." Don't lose hope - I know the waiting is absolutely brutal, but most people do get their payments eventually. The system is just super backed up. Keep checking your account and definitely try some of the other suggestions people posted here. You got this! šŖ
