Struggling to check claim status with DSS - any recent letters or tips to get through?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check on my claim status but I'm not having any luck. Has anyone received any letters or notices about their claims recently? I'm getting worried because I haven't heard anything in a while. Any tips on how to get through to someone who can actually help?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get info on my claim for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach anyone. Have you tried calling first thing in the morning? That sometimes works for me.

•First thing in the morning? lol good luck with that. I've tried at 7:59 AM and still got the 'call volume too high' message. This system is a joke 🤡

•Same here. I've tried calling at all hours and it's always busy. It's so frustrating!

I actually found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's the link: https://www.claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. The $20 was worth it to finally get some answers about my claim.

•I used it too! Totally worth the money. Got through in like an hour when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a letter. It's not always reliable, but worth a shot.

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for weeks with no update. The whole system is broken. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even get basic information about our claims? 😡

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. Sometimes you get lucky. 2. Check your online account daily for updates. 3. If you receive any mail from them, respond ASAP. 4. Consider contacting your local representative. They sometimes can help push things along. 5. Document everything - dates you called, letters you sent, etc. 6. Join Facebook groups for unemployment in your state. Sometimes they have insider info. 7. Be prepared with all your info when you do get through (claim number, dates worked, etc.) Hang in there, everyone. I know it's tough, but persistence is key.

•Great advice. I'd add: don't give up! It took me 3 months, but I finally got my issue resolved.

Has anyone tried faxing? I heard from a friend that sometimes they respond faster to faxes because fewer people use them now.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But hey, if it works, it works!
