EDD: Mailed continued claim 2+ weeks ago, no response. How to check status?
Hey everyone, I mailed in my continued claim form over two weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. I'm getting worried about the status of my claim. Has anyone else experienced long wait times for mailed-in claims? Any advice on how to follow up or check on the status?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat before. Have you tried calling the EDD? Sometimes that's the only way to get a straight answer.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

•lol good luck with that. i've tried calling at opening time and still get the 'too many callers' message. EDD's phone system is a joke 🤡

Two weeks isnt that long tbh. I waited over a month for my claim to be processed. The system is super backed up rn. Just hang in there!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending anything in the mail.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it imo

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•Only about 30 minutes. Way better than the hours I spent trying to get through on my own.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for way too long: 1. Always keep copies of everything you mail in. 2. Take screenshots of your online account regularly. 3. If you can, file online instead of mailing. It's usually faster. 4. Be persistent with calling. It sucks, but sometimes it's the only way. 5. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. The EDD system is a nightmare, but you'll get through it eventually.

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to move faster when you bug them on social media? Try tweeting at them or messaging on FB. Worked for me!
