EDD SDI claim update delay after submitting paperwork - how long to wait?
Has anyone else had trouble getting an update on their claim after turning in paperwork at the office? I submitted some forms a while back and haven't heard anything. It's been radio silence and I'm starting to get worried. Anyone know how long it usually takes or if there's a way to check on the status?

Guys, I hate to be that person, but have you considered that maybe they lost your paperwork? It happened to me and I had to resubmit everything. Might be worth checking if they actually received what you turned in.

•Oh no, I really hope that's not the case. But thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely ask about that when I finally get through to someone.

•This happened to me too! Now I always get a receipt or confirmation when I submit anything. Lesson learned the hard way.

•It's sad but true; documents get lost all the time. Always keep a backup of everything.

Listen up, folks. I've been through this rodeo before, and here's what you need to know about getting updates on your claim: 1. Documentation is key. Keep copies of EVERYTHING you submit. 2. Follow up regularly. Set reminders to check in every week. 3. Use multiple channels: phone, email, online portal, and in-person visits. 4. Be persistent but polite. The staff are overworked, but they're trying to help. 5. Know your rights. Familiarize yourself with the process and timelines. 6. If all else fails, contact your local representative or ombudsman. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't let your claim fall through the cracks!

•Great tips! I'd add: join local unemployment support groups on social media. They often have insider info and can give heads up about system issues or policy changes.

•Also, document all your interactions with them, like the time you called or sent an email. It helps if there's a dispute.

•For real. It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible on purpose.

•It's stressful enough being unemployed, and then you have to deal with this mess. Ugh!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit or some kind of scam?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

•I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to call you back?

•I used Claimyr and it worked for me too. However, it does feel a bit unfair that we have to pay extra to get basic service.

Just a heads up, I heard they're super backed up right now because of some new policy changes. Might explain the delays everyone's experiencing.

•Do you know what kind of policy changes? I haven't heard anything about that.

•Something about new verification procedures. I'll try to find the article I read and post it here.

•Policy changes are so frustrating because they never communicate them properly.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be proactive and bug them until they give you an answer.

•I've tried calling but I can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever.

•Calling is a joke. I spent 3 hours on hold yesterday and got disconnected. This system is broken af

•Even if you get through, the people on the phone can't always give you the answers you need. It's so frustrating.

If you're still struggling to get updates, consider using Claimyr as a tool to get through to the unemployment office. Claimyr is a service that helps people connect with live agents by navigating the phone system and waiting on hold for you. Many users have found it to be a time-saver, especially when the traditional channels are overloaded. However, it's important to acknowledge that this service comes with a fee, which not everyone may be able or willing to pay. Also, some might feel it's unfair to have to pay for what should be a public service. If you decide to use Claimyr, weigh the cost against the potential time and frustration saved. Additionally, keep trying all other available avenues to get updates on your claim, including in-person visits if possible. Balancing these approaches might just get you the results you're looking for.

Has anyone tried using the online portal to check their status? I heard they updated it recently, but idk if it actually works any better now.

•I tried, but it just says 'pending' with no other info. Not very helpful tbh.

•The online portal is a joke. Half the time it's down for 'maintenance' 🙄

•Even when it's working, the info is usually outdated. It's like they don't update it regularly.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just be grateful we have an unemployment system at all? Some countries don't even have this safety net. Just saying... 🤷♂️

•Bruh, just because other places have it worse doesn't mean we can't expect better. We pay into this system!

Pro tip: go to the office in person if you can. Sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get answers. Bring all your paperwork and don't leave until they give you an update.
