EDD Claim Status: How Long After Filing to Get Updates?
Hey everyone, I just filed a claim and I'm trying to check on its status. Has anyone had any luck getting updates recently? How long did it take for you to hear back after filing?

I filed my claim about 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling the EDD? I've been trying to get through but no luck so far.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Here's what I've learned about claim status updates: ā¢ After filing, it can take 2-3 weeks for initial processing ā¢ You should receive a notice in the mail with your claim info ā¢ Check your UI Online account daily for updates ā¢ If you don't hear anything after 3 weeks, definitely try calling ā¢ Sometimes they need additional info, so watch for any requests ā¢ Be patient, the system is overwhelmed right now Hope this helps! ā¢This is super helpful, thanks @Nia Thompson! Just to add - I noticed that if you file on a weekend, it sometimes takes an extra few days to start processing. Also, make sure your contact info is updated because they'll send important stuff by mail first.

Pro tip: if you're calling, try right when they open or just before closing. Sometimes you can catch a break in the queue.
