PFL Claim Status: How long until I hear back from EDD?
Hey everyone, I just filed for Paid Family Leave and I'm wondering how long it usually takes to get an update on the claim status. Anyone have experience with this? How long did you have to wait before hearing back?

I filed for PFL about 2 months ago and it took around 3 weeks to get any kind of update. The waiting game is brutal, hang in there!

ā¢3 weeks? You're lucky! I've been waiting for over a month now and still radio silence š¤

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. Costs $20 but totally worth it for me. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Up to you if you think it's worth it š¤·āāļø

Here's what I know about PFL claim processing: ⢠Generally takes 2-4 weeks for initial review ⢠Can be longer if they need additional info ⢠You can check status online or by phone (good luck getting through tho) ⢠If approved, payments usually start within a week ⢠Keep all your docs handy in case they request more Hope this helps! The system's a mess but hang in there.

I swear the EDD is run by sloths or something. How hard is it to process a claim in a reasonable timeframe? š¤¬

ā¢Hey now, don't insult sloths like that. They're way more efficient š

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help speed things up.
