How long for first PFL payment from EDD? Anxiously waiting!

In my experience, it took about 3 weeks after my claim was approved to get the first payment. But I've heard it can vary quite a bit.

It really depends on how backed up the EDD office is. I've heard anywhere from 2-6 weeks is normal. If it's been longer than that, def give them a call.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Make sure you're checking the right date - it's not from when you first applied, but from when EDD actually approves your claim (you'll get a notice). Also, if you haven't already, sign up for text alerts on your EDD account - they'll notify you when payments are processed.
