PFL Bonding Payment Delay: Filed 9/4, Still No First Payment. What to Do?
Hey everyone, I filed for Paid Family Leave bonding on September 4th and still haven't received my first payment. It's been over two weeks now. Anyone else experiencing delays? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD is such a mess rn. I filed for PFL bonding last month and it took almost 3 weeks to get my first payment. Hang in there!

•3 weeks?! 😩 That's so frustrating. Did you have to do anything special to get it moving?

•Nah, just waited it out. But def keep an eye on ur online account for any messages or requests for more info. Sometimes they need extra docs and don't tell u 🙄

I've been through this process before, and here's what I've learned: • Typically, it takes about 14 days to process a PFL claim • Make sure all your documents are in order • Check your online account daily for updates or requests • If it's been more than 14 business days, consider calling EDD • Be prepared with your claim details when you call • Ask if there are any issues or if they need additional information • Follow up promptly if they request anything Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

•Thank you so much for this detailed response! It's really helpful. I'll definitely check my online account more frequently.

•Yo, I found a way to actually get through! There's this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials the menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. Costs $20 but totally worth it imo. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Preach! 🙌 The government needs to get its act together. We're all out here struggling while they can't even process simple claims

Quick question - did you make sure to certify for your weeks? Sometimes people forget that step and it holds up the whole process.

•Oh, I didn't realize I had to certify for PFL bonding. How do I do that?

•For PFL bonding, you usually don't need to certify each week like with UI. My bad, I got them mixed up! 😅 Disregard my previous comment.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD claims.

•I hadn't thought of that! How would I go about contacting them?

•Just google your district and 'assembly member'. Their office usually has a form or contact info for constituent services. They deal with EDD issues all the time!
