PFL payment reinstatement delay - submitted forms 2+ weeks ago, no response

Hey everyone, I submitted my forms for paid family leave over two weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else experienced long wait times for their payment to be reinstated? I'm starting to get worried and could use some advice on what to do next.

Ugh, I feel you. I've been waiting for almost a month now. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can help speed things up.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's like their phone lines are always busy 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold that way!

Good idea! I'll have to set an alarm and try that tomorrow morning. Thanks for the tip! 👍

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep for just a phone call...

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through on my own.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications.

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 3 weeks now. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. 🤬

Preach! 🙌 It's like they don't even care about us struggling to make ends meet.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with PFL claims: 1. Always keep copies of everything you submit. 2. Check your online account daily for updates. 3. If you don't hear back within 10 business days, start calling. 4. Be persistent! Sometimes you have to call multiple times. 5. If possible, fax your documents instead of mailing them. It's usually faster. 6. Make sure you've filled out every form correctly. Even small errors can cause delays. 7. If you're really stuck, contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite things. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. 💪

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try faxing my documents next time.

have u tried sending a follow-up email? sometimes that can help bump ur claim up in the queue

I didn't even know we could email them! Do you have the address?

its on there website somewhere. just google 'PFL contact email' and it should come up

Lol welcome to the wonderful world of government bureaucracy 🤡 Where everything takes 10x longer than it should

Hey, just a heads up - there was a system upgrade last month that's been causing some delays. Might be why your claim is taking longer than usual.

Typical. They never seem to get these 'upgrades' right the first time. 🙄

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them can get a faster response.

This actually worked for me! Got a DM within an hour asking for my claim number.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my PFL claim 3 weeks ago and radio silence. It's so stressful when you're counting on that money. I've been checking my online account obsessively but no updates there either. Really appreciate everyone sharing their tips here - going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning and maybe give that social media approach a shot too. Hang in there OP, hopefully we both get some movement on our claims soon! 🤞

Same here! 😓 I'm new to this whole PFL process and honestly had no idea it could take this long. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring (I'm not alone) and concerning (the system really is this slow). I'm definitely going to try that early morning calling strategy @Dylan Campbell mentioned. Has anyone had luck with contacting their local assemblyperson s'office like @Connor Gallagher suggested? That sounds like it might be worth a shot if the phone calls don t work'out.
