EDD Claim Effective Date Change: No Updates After a Month. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. About a month ago, I requested a change to my claim effective date. I've been waiting to hear back about the status of this change, but so far, crickets. Has anyone else dealt with something similar? How long did it take for you to get an update? I'm starting to get a little anxious here.

I found a way to solve claim effective date change delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mj0c361k2-k

Ugh, I feel ya. I had to change my claim date too and it took FOREVER. Like, almost 2 months before I heard anything back. The waiting game is the worst šŸ˜«

2 months?! That's insane. I thought my 3 weeks was bad. The system is so broken šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Seriously? I'm only 2 weeks in and already losing my mind. How did you cope with the wait?

I've been there, buddy. It's frustrating as hell. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can speed things up.

Listen up, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

I was skeptical too, but desperate times call for desperate measures. It saved me hours of frustration, so for me, it was totally worth it.

I used it last week and got through in like 30 minutes. Best $20 I've spent in a while tbh

Here's what I've learned from my experience: ā€¢ Be patient. These changes can take 4-6 weeks to process. ā€¢ Document everything. Keep a record of when you requested the change. ā€¢ If you haven't heard back after 6 weeks, that's when you should start following up. ā€¢ Use the online portal to check for updates if possible. ā€¢ When you do get through on the phone, be polite but firm. The person on the other end isn't responsible for the delay. ā€¢ If all else fails, contact your local representative. They can sometimes expedite things. Hang in there, OP. The system is slow, but it does work... eventually.

I heard they're super backlogged rn because of some new policy changes. Might be why it's taking so long.

Any idea what the policy changes are? I'm curious if it'll affect my claim too

Not sure on the specifics, but I think it has something to do with how they're processing covid-related claims. Don't quote me on that tho lol
