PFL claim extension radio silence - 6 weeks and counting. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I got an extension for my PFL claim a while back, but I still haven't received anything. It's been radio silence from them. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I'm starting to get worried...

Ugh, I feel ya. The PFL system is such a mess rn. When did you submit your extension? It took them like 2 months to process mine 🙄

I submitted it about 6 weeks ago. 2 months?! That's insane. Did you have to do anything to get them to finally process it?

Nah, I just had to wait it out. It suuuucked. But hang in there, hopefully ull hear back soon!

2 months?! yall are lucky. I've been waiting for 3 months now. This system is beyond broken 😤

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep bugging them until they give you an answer.

I've tried calling a few times, but I always get stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates and times. 2. Send a follow-up email or fax (yes, they still use fax 🙄) referencing your original extension request. Include any relevant claim numbers or identifiers. 3. If you haven't heard back within 10 business days of your follow-up, escalate to a supervisor. You can usually request this when you call. 4. Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They often have contacts within the department and can help push things along. 5. Check your online account regularly for any updates or requests for additional information. 6. If all else fails, file a formal complaint with the department. This can sometimes kickstart the process. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but you have a right to your benefits. Good luck!

Not to be that guy, but did you make sure you filled out all the forms correctly? I thought I was waiting forever, turns out I missed a signature on one page 🤦‍♂️

0 coins

Oh man, I hope that's not it. I'll double-check everything just in case. Thanks for the heads up!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried reaching out on social media? I tweeted at them and got a response within a day. Worth a shot! 🤷‍♀️

idk if this helps, but I was in the same boat last year. turns out there was a glitch in there system that was delaying a bunch of extensions. might be worth asking if theres any known issues rn

Classic government IT 🙄 Always some kind of 'glitch' or 'system error

Ugh, why can't they just get their act together? We're talking about people's livelihoods here!
