PFL claim still pending, no letters received - what to ask agent?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my PFL claim. It's been pending for a while now and I haven't received any letters or notices. I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should ask when I finally get through to an agent?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call, but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

30 minutes? You got lucky! I was on hold for 2 hours last time šŸ˜

When did you file your claim? Sometimes it can take a few weeks to process, especially if they're backlogged.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate and gave it a shot. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I know, it sucks that we have to pay extra. But for me, it was worth it to finally get some answers.

Here's what you should ask when you get through to an agent: ā€¢ Ask for the specific reason your claim is still pending ā€¢ Inquire if they need any additional documents from you ā€¢ Request an estimated timeline for processing ā€¢ Ask if there's anything you can do to expedite the process ā€¢ Get the agent's name and a reference number for the call Make sure to take notes during the call. Sometimes you might need to follow up, and having detailed info from your previous conversation can be super helpful.

This is really helpful, thank you so much! I'll definitely use these questions when I call.

Great advice! I'd add: ask them to notate your account with the info they give you. Makes follow-up calls easier.

have you checked your online account? sometimes they update stuff there before sending letters

I did check, but there's no new information there either. It's like my claim is in limbo šŸ˜•

The whole PFL system is a joke tbh. I've been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. Good luck, OP!

3 months?! That's insane! Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

No, I haven't thought of that. Might give it a try. Thx for the tip!

Quick question - did you submit all the required documentation with your initial claim? I forgot to include one form and it delayed my claim for weeks šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

I'm pretty sure I did, but now you've got me worried. I'll double-check everything when I call.

Unpopular opinion: sometimes it's faster to just resubmit your claim instead of waiting for them to process the original one. Worked for me! šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Wouldn't that just create more confusion and potentially delay things even more? Seems risky.

It's def a gamble, but when you're desperate, sometimes you gotta roll the dice šŸŽ²
