EDD claim extension approved but no payment yet - new claim processing. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I filed for an extension on my claim and got approved, but I haven't received anything yet. I just submitted a new claim with the updated dates, and now it's saying it's processing. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm getting worried because I haven't received any confirmation emails or anything. How long does this usually take?

When did you file the new claim? That's pretty important info to know if it's within a normal processing time or not.

•I filed it yesterday afternoon. Is that too soon to expect any updates?

•Oh yeah, definitely too soon. Give it at least a week before you start worrying. The system is slow af 🐌

I've been there, buddy. The waiting game is the worst part. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates? Sometimes they post stuff there before sending emails.

Ugh, extensions are such a pain. I had to wait almost three weeks before I saw any movement on mine. Hang in there!

•Three weeks?! 😱 I hope mine doesn't take that long. Bills are piling up...

•I feel ya. It's tough but try to stay positive. Maybe call and check if there's anything else you need to do?

Hey, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. •Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers. Plus, time is money, right?

Here's what I've learned from my experience with EDD extensions: 1. Be patient. Processing can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks. 2. Keep checking your online account daily for updates. 3. Make sure all your documents are in order and uploaded. 4. If you don't hear anything after 2 weeks, try calling (good luck with that though). 5. Sometimes, sending a message through the online portal can nudge things along. 6. Double-check that your new claim dates don't overlap with the old ones. 7. If you worked at all during your original claim period, make sure to report that accurately. Hope this helps! The system is frustrating, but hang in there.

•Great advice! I'd add: screenshot everything. You never know when you'll need proof of what you submitted or what the website said.

•Totally agree. We need serious reform in how unemployment is handled. This ain't it, chief.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? Sometimes they can help speed things up with EDD. Worth a shot!

•That's actually a really good idea! I never thought about contacting my assembly member. Do you know if there's a specific department or person I should ask for when I call?
