EDD claim status unknown - supplemental paperwork submitted, no payment, worried about cancellation. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check on the status of my claim and I'm feeling pretty frustrated. I submitted some supplemental paperwork a while back, but I'm not sure if it was received correctly. It's been taking forever to get my payment and I'm starting to worry that my claim might have been canceled or discontinued. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get some answers?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been in the same boat. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes it's the only way to get answers.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

•Calling is useless. I waited 4 hours only to get disconnected 🤬

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get some answers. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from my experience: 1. Always keep copies of everything you submit. 2. Send important documents via certified mail so you have proof of delivery. 3. Use their online portal to check status updates if possible. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. Sometimes they respond there. 5. Contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is frustrating but don't give up.

•Great tips! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls/attempts. It can help if you need to escalate later.

Anyone else notice that they seem to 'lose' paperwork more often lately? I swear I've had to resubmit stuff like 3 times now. 🙄

•Conspiracy theory: they do it on purpose to delay payments 👀

Hey OP, when did you submit the supplemental paperwork? There was a system upgrade last month that caused some delays.

•I submitted it about 6 weeks ago. That might explain the delay, thanks for the info!

Pro tip: if u cant get thru on the main line, try calling some of the other departments and ask to be transfered. Worked for me!

Guys, I know it's frustrating, but remember the workers are probably overwhelmed too. A little patience goes a long way when you do get someone on the phone.
