PFL claim for 2 weeks stuck - no response from EDD. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my PFL claim. I submitted a request form for the remaining 2 weeks of my leave, but I haven't heard anything back. It's been a while and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to follow up or what I should do next? I'm thinking about sending an email, but I'm not sure what to say or who to contact. This is so frustrating!

Ugh, I feel ya. The PFL system is such a mess rn. I had to wait like 3 weeks for a response when I filed. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did you have to wait on hold?

Honestly, it was a nightmare. I was on hold for like 2 hours before I finally got someone. But it was worth it in the end. Just make sure you have plenty of time and maybe a good book or some Netflix ready lol

2 hours? You got lucky! I was on hold for 4 hours and then got disconnected. 🤬 The system is totally broken.

Here's what worked for me: I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? Kinda skeptical about paying for something like this...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me so much time and frustration. Worth every penny imo. They even refund you if it doesn't work.

I've used it too! Totally legit. Got through to an agent in like 30 minutes instead of spending all day on hold.

Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that can be faster than calling. Here's a template you can use: Subject: Follow-Up on PFL Request Form Dear EDD Support Team, I submitted a PFL request form on [DATE] for the remaining two weeks of my leave. I haven't received any response yet. Could you please confirm if my request was received and provide an update on its status? If you need any additional information from me, please let me know. Thank you for your help, [YOUR NAME] [CONTACT INFO]

Good template, but in my experience, they rarely respond to emails. You might have better luck calling or using their online portal if they have one.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes their responses end up there. Also, make sure you're logging into your account regularly to check for updates. They don't always send emails when there's new info.

Oh, I didn't even think about the spam folder! I'll check right now. Thanks for the tip!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open or about an hour before they close. Sometimes the wait times are shorter then.

This! 💯 I always call first thing in the morning and usually get through pretty quick.

Oof, been there done that. The PFL process is such a headache. Hang in there, OP! It'll get sorted eventually. In the meantime, document EVERYTHING. Every call, email, letter. It'll help if you need to escalate later.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my PFL request 3 weeks ago and radio silence. It's so stressful when you're depending on those benefits. I've tried calling multiple times but can never get through - the line just goes busy or I get disconnected after waiting forever. Has anyone had luck reaching out to their local assembly member's office? I heard they sometimes help with EDD issues. Also wondering if there's a specific department or extension that might be less busy than the main number. This whole system really needs to be fixed - we shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops just to get a response! 😤
