Need help checking claim status with EDD - any tips to actually reach an agent?
Hey everyone, I filed a claim recently and I'm trying to check on its status. Has anyone had any luck getting through to an agent lately? I've been trying to call but keep getting stuck on hold forever. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to a real person. 🤬

•Same here! I swear they must have like 2 people working the phones. This is ridiculous.

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

•Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point.

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

•How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

•It took about an hour, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Be persistent. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Have all your info ready when you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim number, etc. 3. Be polite to the agent when you finally get through. They're probably overwhelmed too. 4. If one agent can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor. 5. Keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke to. Hope this helps someone! Good luck out there, we're all in this together. 💪

•For real. In 2023 we should be able to check all this stuff online. smh

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling your local office instead. Sometimes they're less busy and can still help with claim status.

Has anyone tried reaching out on social media? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses that way.

•I tried tweeting at them once. They just sent me a link to the FAQ page. 🙄

Idk if this helps but I finally got through last week after trying for a month. The agent told me they're super backlogged bc of some new system update. Might explain why its so hard to get info rn.

•Classic. They probably spent millions on a new system that doesn't even work right. 🤦♂️
