EDD benefit approval taking forever, phone disconnected. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting my benefits approved. I filed my claim a while ago and haven't heard anything back. My phone got disconnected, so I'm worried I might have missed important calls. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to speed up the process or get in touch with someone who can help?

Ugh, I feel ya. The whole system is a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

â˘I've been trying to call, but it's impossible to get through. Always busy or they hang up on me đ¤

â˘Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can sneak through before the lines get jammed.

â˘Calling is useless, I swear they have one person working the phones for the whole state đ

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

â˘20 bucks tho? That's steep when you're already hurting for cash.

â˘I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers. Plus, time is money, right?

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there without actually contacting you. Worth a shot!

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Reach out to your local state representative. They often have contacts in the unemployment office. 3. Be persistent but polite. It's frustrating, but the people on the phone aren't personally responsible for the delays. 4. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 5. Join Facebook groups for unemployment in your state. They often have good tips and can alert you to system updates. Hang in there! It's a broken system, but eventually it does work... usually. đ¤

â˘Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my rep. Didn't even think of that.

Anyone else notice that ever since that big fraud scandal, they're being super slow with everything? It's like they're paranoid about approving anyone now.

â˘Yep, they're overcompensating big time. We're all paying for those scammers' actions đ
