EDD payment delay since Feb 5 filing - any advice?
Hey everyone, I filed my claim on February 5th and I'm still waiting for my payment to be processed. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? I'm getting worried and could use some advice on what to do next.

Ugh, I feel ya. I filed mine back in January and it's still 'pending'. The EDD is such a mess rn 🙄

•Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can speed things up

•Calling? LOL good luck getting through. I've tried like 50 times and always get the 'too busy' message 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Totally get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Got through in like an hour when I'd been trying for weeks

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for months: 1. Be persistent. Keep calling and checking your online account. 2. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and account updates. 3. Contact your local assembly member. They can sometimes expedite claims. 4. Check for any pending tasks or certifications in your account. Sometimes there's a hold-up because they need more info. 5. If you can, try to speak with a Tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to resolve issues. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but don't give up!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try contacting my assembly member. Do you know how long it usually takes to hear back from them?

•In my experience, it can take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks. But it's worth a shot!

I heard they're super backed up cuz of all the fraud cases they're dealing with. Might be why it's taking so long 🤔

•Yeah, I read about that too. Apparently there were billions in fraudulent claims last year. Crazy stuff!

Pro tip: if you do manage to get through on the phone, ask them to escalate your claim to a manager. Worked for me!

•This! 💯 The regular reps often can't do much, but managers have more power to push things through
