Not sure if this helps, but I had success by going to my local unemployment office in person. The wait was long, but I got answers and they were able to push my claim through.
That's a great idea, I didn't even think of that. Is it best to make an appointment or just show up?
I just showed up, but if they offer appointments where you are, that might be better. Bring all your docs just in case!
guys. i literaly just got my approval today after 2 months of waiting. dont give up hope!
Congrats! 🎉 Did you do anything special or just wait it out?
just waited tbh. but i did check my online account everyday and responded to any messages asap
Anyone else feel like the whole system is rigged against us? 🤔 Like, why make it so hard to get basic help when we're already dealing with health issues? smh
Preach! 🙌 It's like they want us to fail
ikr? its a total clown show 🤡
Pro tip: If you cant get through on the phone, try reaching out on social media. Sometimes their PR team can escalate issues faster than customer service.
Random question: has anyone here successfully transitioned from state to federal disability WITHOUT a gap in coverage? Is that even possible?
It's tough, but possible. You need to time your applications perfectly and hope for no delays. I managed it, but it was stressful af.
I had a small gap, like 2 weeks. Not ideal, but could've been worse I guess.
Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at 8:00 AM when they open 2. If you get the 'too many callers' message, hang up and redial immediately 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue 4. Once in the queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long the wait 5. Have all your info ready when you finally get through It took me about 20 attempts over 3 days, but I finally got through. Stay persistent!
Wow, thanks for the detailed strategy! I'll definitely give this a try. Fingers crossed it works for me too!

Pro tip: if you get connected to the wrong department, ask them to transfer you directly instead of hanging up and calling again. Sometimes they can do an internal transfer that bypasses the main menu.
