Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Ah gotcha. Part-time can be tricky. Make sure you have your exact hours worked for the past 18 months when you call. They'll need that to determine eligibility. Congrats on the new baby btw!

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and online account checks. 2. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important EDD emails end up there. 3. Make sure your identity verification is complete. This is a common holdup. 4. If you can't get through on the main line, try the technical support line and ask to be transferred. 5. Use social media. Sometimes tweeting at EDD or commenting on their Facebook posts can get attention. 6. Consider filing a complaint with the Department of Labor if it's been an excessive amount of time. 7. Join Facebook groups for unemployment support. There's often good, current info there. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

Pro tip: If you do manage to get through on the phone, ask for a tier 2 specialist right away. They have more power to actually fix issues with your claim.
