EDD payment delay after Notice of Computation - normal or problem?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I filed a while back and got my Notice of Computation, but I'm still waiting on my payment. Does anyone know why there might be a delay? I'm trying to figure out if this is normal or if I need to do something else. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you double-checked all the info on your Notice of Computation? Sometimes there can be errors that cause delays. Make sure everything looks correct - your work history, wages, etc. If something's off, you'll need to contact EDD to get it fixed.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll take another look at it. Do you know how long it usually takes after getting the Notice of Computation to receive the first payment?

•It can vary, but typically it should be within a couple weeks. If it's been longer than that, you might want to try contacting EDD directly. Good luck!

I've been in the same boat, buddy. The system is so backed up right now, it's ridiculous. I waited almost 2 months after my Notice of Computation before I saw any money. Hang in there!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•$20 to actually talk to a human? might be worth it at this point lol

•Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. Why should we have to pay to get help from a government agency? 🤔

•I get the concern, but for me, it was worth the $20 to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know? 🤷♂️

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are hidden messages or requests for additional information that can hold up your claim. Make sure you've completed everything they've asked for.

The whole unemployment system is a joke rn. I've been waiting 3 months for my appeal to go through. It's like they want us to give up 😤

•Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with EDD delays: 1. Double-check your Notice of Computation for errors 2. Log into UI Online daily and respond to any requests immediately 3. If you have wages from another state, it can cause delays 4. Make sure your identity verification is complete 5. If you've had multiple employers, sometimes that can slow things down 6. Keep certifying for benefits even if you haven't received payment yet 7. Try calling early in the morning or late in the evening for better chances of getting through 8. Consider using the AskEDD feature on their website to submit questions 9. If all else fails, contact your state assembly member or senator for help Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is overwhelmed but you'll get your money eventually.

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online interaction. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve an issue.
