EDD claim update: How long for mail confirmation? Anyone else waiting?
Hey everyone, I'm waiting on an update for my unemployment claim. I called EDD and they said they'd send me something in the mail. It's been a while and I haven't received anything yet. Anyone else in the same boat or know how long this usually takes?

Ugh, welcome to the club. I've been waiting for MONTHS to hear back about my claim. The mail system is slower than a snail crawling through peanut butter. 🐌

•Months?! That's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them again?

•Yeah, like a million times. Either can't get through or they just tell me to keep waiting. It's a joke 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•It's legit! You pay, give them your number, and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of hold time.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting whole days trying to get through.

Pro tip: If you haven't received mail in a while, make sure your address is up to date in the system. I found out the hard way that they had my old address on file. 🤦♂️

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past year: 1. Be persistent. Call multiple times if needed. 2. Keep all your documents organized and ready. 3. Log into your online account regularly for updates. 4. If you get a helpful rep, ask for their employee ID in case you need to reference the call later. 5. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office for help. 6. Join Facebook groups for EDD claimants - sometimes they have insider info. 7. Be patient (I know, it sucks) but things do eventually get resolved. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. 💪

•Sure! Try searching for 'California EDD Help' or 'EDD Unemployment Support'. There are a few good ones with active admins.

•Preach! 🙌 The tech is probably older than most of us here.

•Totally agree. But can you imagine how long that would take? We'd all be back to work before they finished lol

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing? I heard it might be faster.

•What year is it, 1995? 😂 But for real, does that actually work?

•Lol I know it sounds ancient, but a friend swears by it. Said it got processed way quicker. 🤷♂️

Just a heads up, I got my update letter exactly 3 weeks after they said they'd mail it. Hang in there!
