EDD radio silence after 3 weeks - normal or should I panic?
Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with EDD. I filed for unemployment benefits like 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back from them. Has anyone else been waiting this long? I'm starting to worry that something went wrong with my application. Any advice on how to check the status or speed things up?

•2 months?! That's insane. Have you tried calling them?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about 2 hours.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Beats calling 100 times and getting nowhere 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account daily. Sometimes they update it without notifying you. 2. Make sure all your docs are uploaded correctly. 3. If you haven't certified for benefits yet, do that ASAP. 4. Try calling early in the morning or late afternoon. Those are usually less busy times. 5. If you still can't get through, consider using an auto-dialer or paid service. 6. As a last resort, contact your local assembly member. They can sometimes help push things along. Hang in there! The system is overwhelmed but they'll get to you eventually.

Pro tip: if u cant get thru on the main line, try calling the employer line and act like ur a confused employer. sometimes they'll help u anyway lol
