EDD Application Status Check - No Updates After 3 Weeks. Help!
Hey everyone, I applied for unemployment benefits on August 7th and haven't heard anything back yet. It's been a few weeks and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced long wait times for their application to be processed? Any tips on how to check the status or speed things up?

Ugh, I feel ya. I applied back in July and it took forever to hear back. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

•I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did you have to wait on hold?

•Honestly, it was a nightmare. I was on hold for like 3 hours before I finally got through to someone. But it was worth it to get some answers.

•3 hours? You got lucky! I've been trying for days and can't even get put on hold. This system is a joke 🤡

Pro tip: set up reminders on your phone to follow up every couple of weeks. I use Google Keep for this. Also, make sure you have all your application info handy when you do get through to someone.

•That's a great idea, thanks! I'll definitely set up some reminders. Do you know how often I should be checking in?

•I'd say every 2 weeks is a good start. If you don't hear anything after a month, start trying to call more frequently. Good luck!

Listen up, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to make a phone call? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

•I know it sounds crazy, but after weeks of trying to get through, it was worth every penny. Saved me hours of frustration.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•They don't guarantee it, but in my experience it worked great. You pay, they start calling, and when they get a real person, your phone rings. Simple as that.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Try calling right when they open in the morning. 3. Check your spam folder regularly for any emails from EDD. 4. If you have a complex case, consider reaching out to your local assemblymember's office for help. 5. Be persistent but polite when you do get through. Hang in there, OP. The system is overwhelmed but you'll get through eventually!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications.

•I've been checking it obsessively lol. No updates there either 😩

Anybody else notice that the wait times seem to be getting worse? I swear it wasn't this bad a few months ago.

•It's probably because of all the recent layoffs in tech. The system is getting slammed again.

•Yeah, I heard they're understaffed too. It's a perfect storm of suck 🌪️
