Doctor sent supplemental cert to EDD - What's next?

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a supplemental cert issue. My doctor sent it in a few days ago, but I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone been through this process recently? Any advice on how to follow up or what to expect?

I went through this last month. It can take a while for them to process it. Have you checked your online account to see if it shows up there? Sometimes it takes a few days to appear in the system.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't even think to check my online account. I'll take a look now.

Yeah, def check online. Sometimes they update faster there than anywhere else. Good luck!

Ugh, supplemental certs are the worst. I had to call like 50 times before I got through to someone who could help me. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

Can confirm, I used it too. Beats sitting on hold all day!

Here's what you need to know about supplemental certs: 1. Make sure your doctor filled out all sections completely 2. It can take up to 10 business days to process 3. If you don't see any updates after 2 weeks, try calling the office 4. Keep a copy of everything for your records 5. If you're still having issues, consider contacting your local representative Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

am i the only 1 who thinks its ridiculous we have to jump through all these hoops just to get our benefits? 🤔 the whole systems a joke tbh

Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it complicated on purpose.

Fr fr. We're already dealing with health issues, why make it harder? 🤦‍♀️

Has anyone tried faxing the cert instead of mailing it? I heard it might be faster but idk if thats true

I tried faxing once. Big mistake. They lost it and I had to start all over. Stick to mail or online if possible.

Faxing worked for me! But make sure you keep the confirmation page.

Just a heads up, there's been some changes to the process recently. Make sure you're using the most up-to-date forms from their website. Learned that the hard way 😅
