EDD: Approved for updated medical cert, but no continued claim form yet. Help?
Hey everyone, I just got my updated medical supplementary certificate approved last week. I mailed it in and got the confirmation, but I'm still waiting on the continued certification claim form to keep my benefits going. Has anyone else dealt with this? How long did it take to get the form after approval? I'm getting a bit anxious about the delay.

Congrats on getting approved! π I went through something similar last month. It took about 10 business days for me to receive the continued certification form after approval. Have you tried calling them to check on the status?

β’Thanks for the info! I haven't called yet, but I guess I should. Did you have any trouble getting through to someone on the phone?

β’Ugh, don't even get me started on the phone situation. π It took me like 50 tries over 3 days to finally get through. Good luck!

β’Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. I usually have better luck getting through that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

β’I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with this process multiple times: 1. Always keep copies of everything you send in. 2. Follow up by phone if you don't hear back within 2 weeks. 3. Be persistent but polite when calling. 4. If possible, use the online portal to submit documents - it's usually faster. 5. Keep a log of all your interactions (dates, names, what was discussed). Hope this helps someone navigate this maze! πΊοΈ

β’Great advice! I'd add: set calendar reminders for follow-ups. It's easy to lose track of time when dealing with all this bureaucracy.

Just a heads up, I heard they're implementing a new system next month that's supposed to streamline the whole process. Might be worth waiting if you can.

β’Fair enough. My cousin works in the department, but you're right to be skeptical. These things rarely go smoothly.
