EDD SDI Claim Delay: No Response After 1 Month, Worried About Lost Form

Has anyone else been waiting forever to hear back about their disability claim? I sent in my "Physician/Practitioner Supplementary Certificate" form over a month ago and still haven't gotten any money. I'm worried it got lost in the mail or something. How long does this usually take? I'm getting really frustrated with the whole process.

I found a way to solve EDD disability claim delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1BKezvSpq0

Here's what I've learned from my experience with EDD disability claims: 1. Documentation is key. Make sure EVERYTHING is filled out correctly and completely. 2. Follow up regularly. Call, email, check your online account. 3. Be patient but persistent. The system is overwhelmed, but don't let your claim fall through the cracks. 4. Keep copies of everything you send them. 5. If possible, fax your documents instead of mailing them. It's faster and you get a confirmation. 6. If you're really stuck, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try faxing next time. Any idea how long it typically takes to process a claim?

This is gold 💯 Wish I knew all this when I started my claim!

Hot take: the whole system is designed to be frustrating so people give up. Stay strong and keep pushing! 💪

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be proactive and chase them down.

0 coins

Yeah, I've been trying to call for days. Can't get through to anyone. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them.

0 coins

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are better.

Friendly reminder to everyone: take care of your mental health while dealing with this stress. It's easy to get overwhelmed, but remember to breathe and take breaks when you need to. We're all in this together! ❤️

Thanks for this. It's been really stressful and it's good to be reminded to step back sometimes.

This! 👆 Self-care is so important, especially when dealing with bureaucratic nightmares like this.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been waiting for almost 3 months now. The system is completely broken. 🤦‍♂️

Have you heard of Claimyr? It's a service that helps people contact the EDD by staying on hold for you until they reach an agent. It costs $20 per use, which can seem steep, but it has helped many people navigate the frustrating system. However, it's important to weigh this cost against your budget and consider whether it's a sustainable expense, especially if you are on a tight budget. Also, while Claimyr offers a potential shortcut, the core issue remains a systemic one, with governmental departments needing better resources to handle claims efficiently. Regardless, it might be worth trying if you're desperate to get through.

I might give Claimyr a try if I can't reach anyone soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

0 coins

Just be cautious about the $20 cost each time. It can add up quickly if there's no resolution.

0 coins

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 2 months now. It's ridiculous how understaffed and inefficient they are. Don't they realize people need this money to survive??

LPT: While you're waiting, document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online update. It might come in handy if you need to appeal or escalate your claim later.

0 coins

Hey OP, have you considered reaching out to your local assemblymember or state senator? They sometimes have staff dedicated to helping constituents with EDD issues.

0 coins

I didn't know that was an option! I'll look into it, thanks for the tip!

0 coins

Not to be that guy, but have you double-checked that you sent it to the right address? I made that mistake once and it set me back weeks. 🤦‍♂️

0 coins

Oh man, now you've got me paranoid. I'm pretty sure I did, but I'll definitely double-check. Thanks for the heads up!

0 coins

I heard they're super backed up because of all the fraud cases they're dealing with. Not sure if its true, but might explain the delay.

0 coins

Anyone else notice that their processing times seem to get longer every year? I swear it used to be faster back in the day.

0 coins

Pepperidge Farm remembers 😂

0 coins

For real tho. It's like they're moving backwards instead of improving. SMH.

0 coins

have u tried sending a carrier pigeon? might be faster than the mail at this point lmao 🐦

0 coins

Nah bro, smoke signals are where its at. EDD might actually see those 😂

0 coins

LOL if only. Maybe I should try morse code next 😅

guys i think i figured it out. we need to perform a ritual sacrifice to the EDD gods. who's got a goat we can use? 🐐

0 coins

I volunteer as tribute! 🙋‍♂️

0 coins

Nah, they prefer the souls of underpaid customer service reps. That's why they never answer the phones! 😱

PSA: If you're really desperate, you can request an expedited claim due to financial hardship. You need to provide proof, but it might speed things up.

0 coins

I had no idea this was an option! Do you know what kind of proof they need?

0 coins

Usually stuff like eviction notices, utility shut-off warnings, or bank statements showing you're overdrawn. Basically anything that shows you're in dire straits.

0 coins

yall ever think about how wild it is that we gotta jump through all these hoops just to get money we're entitled to? 🤔 system's wack yo

0 coins

unpopular opinion: maybe if we all stopped expecting instant gratification and learned some patience, this wouldn't be such a big deal 🤷‍♀️

0 coins

Bruh, people are waiting months for money they need to live. That's not "instant gratification," that's basic survival.

0 coins

Ok boomer 🙄

I'm just saying, times are tough for everyone, including the people processing these claims. A little understanding goes a long way.

0 coins

I'm telling you, it's all a conspiracy to keep us down. Wake up, sheeple! 👀

0 coins

Dude, put the tinfoil hat away. It's not a conspiracy, it's just good old-fashioned incompetence. 🙄

0 coins

That's what they want you to think! 😤

Guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

0 coins

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

0 coins

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay extra just to use it? 🤬

0 coins

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

0 coins

How long did you have to wait with this service?

0 coins

I feel your pain. The waiting game is brutal. Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there before sending anything in the mail.

0 coins

Good idea, I'll take a look. Fingers crossed there's some update!

0 coins

Online account? What is this, the 21st century? 😂 JK, but seriously, their website is almost as bad as their phone system.

0 coins

guys. GUYS. i just got my money today after waiting for 3 months. there is hope! hang in there! 🎉🎉🎉

0 coins

Congrats! 🥳 Did you do anything special to move it along?

0 coins

honestly, i just waited. called a few times but never got through. i guess sometimes the system actually works? 🤷‍♂️

0 coins

That's awesome! Gives me some hope. Enjoy your hard-earned money!

0 coins

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my claim 6 weeks ago and radio silence since then. It's so frustrating because you're dealing with a disability AND financial stress at the same time. I've been reading through all these comments and it sounds like persistence is key. Maybe we should start a support group for people stuck in EDD limbo 😅 Seriously though, thanks for posting this - it helps to know we're not alone in this mess.
