Need help resetting EDD password & confirming disability extension - any tips to reach a human?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my EDD account and disability benefits. I need to reset my password and confirm that my disability extension is still valid through early March. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips on how to get through to a real person? I've been trying to call but keep getting stuck in the automated system.

Ugh, the EDD system is such a nightmare! I had to reset my password last month and it took me FOREVER to get through to someone. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right when they open (8 AM I think?) 2. Keep hitting 0 or # to try and get to a human 3. If you get disconnected, call back immediately Good luck, hope this helps!

•This is solid advice. I'd add that Tuesdays and Wednesdays seem to be less busy. Mondays are hell 😫

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

For the disability extension, make sure you have your doctor's note handy when you call. They might ask for additional documentation. I had to fax mine in 🙄 (who even has a fax machine anymore?

Pro tip: use the 'Contact Us' form on the EDD website for password resets. Sometimes they're faster at responding to those than phone calls. But for the disability extension, you'll probably need to talk to someone directly.

•This! I got my password reset in like 2 days using the online form. Saved me a ton of time on hold.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite EDD issues. Worth a shot if you're really stuck!

•This is actually great advice. My cousin did this and got her issue resolved in a week after months of nothing.

•I hadn't even thought of this! Do you just look up your local rep and give their office a call?

•Yep, exactly! Just google '[your area] assembly member' and you should find their contact info. They usually have staff dedicated to helping with state agency issues.

Here's a detailed guide for navigating the EDD system based on my experience: 1. Password Reset: - Try the online 'Forgot Password' option first - If that fails, use the 'Contact Us' form - Last resort: call early in the morning (8 AM sharp) 2. Disability Extension: - Gather all relevant medical documentation - Call and request to speak with a disability claims specialist - Be prepared to fax or upload additional docs 3. General Tips: - Keep a log of all your calls and interactions - Get the name and ID of any rep you speak with - Follow up any phone conversations with an email summary - Check your online account daily for updates Hope this helps! The system is frustrating, but stay persistent. You've got this! 💪

•Great advice! One thing to add: if you're faxing docs, always keep the confirmation page. EDD has 'lost' my faxes before 🙄
