EDD website 'incorrect password' error when resetting - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble resetting my password on the EDD website. When I try to set a new password, it keeps saying 'incorrect password'. Has anyone else run into this issue? I've tried a few times but no luck. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, classic EDD website issues. 🙄 Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches like this.

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't tried that yet. I'll give it a shot and report back.

Clearing cache worked for me last time I had issues. Good luck OP!

Make sure your new password meets all the requirements. I think it needs to be 8-20 characters with both letters and numbers. The EDD site can be picky about this stuff.

I had the same problem last month! Here's what worked for me: 1. Use a different browser (I switched from Chrome to Firefox) 2. Make sure your password has at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character 3. Try resetting early in the morning or late at night when the site isn't as busy Hope this helps! Let us know if you get it sorted.

This is solid advice. EDD's website is so finicky, I swear it has a mind of its own sometimes 😅

Have you tried calling EDD directly? Sometimes their phone support can reset it for you if the website is being stubborn.

I've thought about it, but I've heard horror stories about their hold times. Has anyone had luck getting through?

LOL good luck with that. I spent 3 hours on hold last week and got disconnected. 🤡

Actually, I found a way to get through to EDD without the crazy wait times. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Thanks for checking in! I tried clearing my cache and using a different browser, but still no luck. Might have to bite the bullet and try calling them directly. 😩

@Emma Davis Before you call, try one more thing - disable any browser extensions or ad blockers temporarily. Sometimes they interfere with EDD s'password reset form. Also, make sure you re'using the official edd.ca.gov site and not a cached/saved version. Good luck!

@Dylan Campbell That s'actually really good advice! I had a similar issue with another government site and it turned out my password manager extension was causing problems. Also @Emma Davis, if you re'still stuck, try typing the password manually instead of copy/pasting - sometimes there are hidden characters that mess things up.
