EDD email change nightmare - any success stories or tips?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble changing my email address with EDD. Has anyone successfully done this recently? I've been trying to get through to them for days but no luck. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve EDD email change issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um-D7wk2uF0

Ugh, changing anything with EDD is such a pain. I had to update my address last month and it took forever. Have you tried calling them early in the morning? That's when I finally got through.

•Early morning calls are hit or miss tbh. I've had better luck calling right before they close 🤷♂️

•Thanks for the suggestions! I'll give both a try and see which one works better.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♀️

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

•Yeah, basically they have an automated system that navigates the phone menu and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. You don't have to do anything until you're connected to an agent.

Have you tried updating your email through UI Online? Sometimes you can make changes there without having to call in.

I've been dealing with this exact issue for weeks now. It's so frustrating! I even sent a message through their contact form but haven't heard back. Starting to feel like I'm shouting into the void here 😫

•Same boat, friend. EDD's communication is a joke. Hang in there!

Here's what worked for me to change my email with EDD: 1. Log into UI Online 2. Go to 'Profile' section 3. Click on 'Update Contact Information' 4. Enter your new email address 5. Verify the change by clicking a link they send to your new email If that doesn't work, try calling this number: 1-800-300-5616. Press 1 for English, then 2, 4, and finally 1 again. This should get you to a rep faster. If all else fails, you might have to visit an EDD office in person. Bring ID and proof of your new email address just in case. Good luck!

Has anyone tried contacting their local assembly member for help? I've heard they can sometimes intervene on your behalf with EDD issues.

•I did this last year when my claim was stuck in pending hell. Took about 2 weeks, but they actually got it resolved!

•How do you even find out who your assembly member is? 🤔

•You can look it up here: http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/ Just enter your address and it'll show you who represents your district.

I actually managed to change my email with EDD about 3 months ago! Here's what finally worked for me after trying everything else: I kept getting stuck in the online system, so I ended up faxing them a written request with my SSN, claim number, old email, new email, and a copy of my ID. Sent it to their general fax line: (916) 319-5760. Took about 10 business days, but they actually processed it! Got a confirmation letter in the mail saying the change was complete. Sometimes the old-school approach works better than their glitchy website. Make sure to include ALL your info clearly - SSN, claim number, both email addresses, phone number, and sign it. Good luck! 🤞

•This is exactly what I needed to hear! I've been banging my head against the wall with their online system for weeks. Faxing seems so old school but if it works, it works! 📠 Do you remember if they called you back to confirm or just sent the letter? Also, did you have to include anything else besides what you mentioned?

•Wow, faxing actually worked? That's amazing! I'm definitely going to try this approach. Quick question - did you include a cover letter explaining what you needed, or just send the info you mentioned? Also, do you think it matters what time of day you send the fax? Thanks for sharing this success story, gives me hope! 🙏

•@Aurora St.Pierre This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I ve'been struggling with their website for over a month now. Quick question - when you faxed the request, did you write it as a formal letter or just list out all the information? And did they require any specific wording or format? I want to make sure I get this right the first time since faxing feels like my last hope at this point! 😅
