EDD form submission confirmation? Uploaded but no response

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my unemployment forms. I uploaded them to the website, but I'm not sure if they've actually received them. I can see that they're uploaded on my end, but I haven't gotten any confirmation. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm thinking about calling to make sure they have everything they need from me.

Ugh, I feel you. The unemployment system is such a mess. I had the same issue a few months ago. My advice? Definitely call them. It's a pain, but it's the only way to be sure they got your forms.

Calling is literally the worst tho. I spent 3 hours on hold last week and then got disconnected 😭

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have to try a few days in a row, but it's way better than waiting all day.

Good advice! Also, try calling on Wednesdays. For some reason, it seems less busy then. At least in my experience.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The goverment should make this easier for free 😤

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and stress. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to actually get you through to someone?

It took about an hour and a half, but I just went about my day until they called me. Way better than being stuck to my phone all day.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Take screenshots of your uploaded forms. Make sure the timestamps are visible. 2. Call the unemployment office (I know, it sucks, but it's necessary). 3. When you get through, ask them to confirm receipt of each form individually. 4. Get the name of the person you speak with and a reference number for the call. 5. If they say anything is missing, ask for an email address to send it to directly. 6. Follow up with an email summarizing your call and what was confirmed. It's a pain, but this process has saved me so many headaches. Good luck!

I swear, dealing with unemployment is like playing a game where the rules keep changing and no one tells you 🙃 Hang in there, OP!

Fr fr 😂 It's like they WANT us to mess up so they don't have to pay

Quick question - did you use the new online portal or the old one? I heard they switched systems recently and it's causing all sorts of issues.

I used the new one, I think? It looked pretty modern. Didn't realize there was an old system still around.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, the new system is supposed to be better, but it's been a real 💩show for a lot of people. Might be worth asking about that when you call.

Has anyone tried going to the unemployment office in person? I'm wondering if that might be faster than dealing with the phone/online stuff.

I did this last month! It was actually not bad. Waited about an hour, but got everything sorted in one go. Just bring ALL your paperwork.

This is big brain energy right here 🧠 Might have to try this myself!

This is such a common issue unfortunately! I went through the exact same thing last year. The upload confirmation on their end doesn't always mean it actually went through to their system. What worked for me was printing out the confirmation page that shows the upload was successful, then when I called I could reference the exact timestamp and file names. Also keep track of how many files you uploaded vs what they show on their end - sometimes only some of them make it through. The whole system is honestly a nightmare but hang in there!
