NY unemployment document upload - no confirmation email received, do I need to mail docs too?
I just uploaded all my required documents for my NY unemployment claim through the link they emailed me, but I never got any confirmation that they received them. The upload page just went blank after I submitted everything. Should I be worried? Has anyone else experienced this? Do I also need to mail or fax physical copies as a backup? I really don't want my claim to be delayed because of some technical glitch with their system.

I had the same issue last month. Don't worry too much - the system doesn't always send confirmation emails even when uploads are successful. You can check if your documents were received by logging into your NY.gov account, going to the My Online Services section, and checking your Documents tab. It should show all successfully uploaded files.

•Thanks! I checked my account but I don't see any Documents tab. Where exactly should I be looking? I'm logged into my NY.gov account but the unemployment section doesn't seem to have what you're describing.

•Seriously?? That's so frustrating. I don't even know if I should try uploading everything again or if that would mess things up more. I wish they'd fix their website!

The lack of confirmation can be concerning, but here's what you should know: 1. The NY DOL system often doesn't provide immediate confirmation for document uploads 2. Documents typically take 2-3 business days to process before they appear in your account 3. You do NOT need to mail or fax documents if you've already uploaded them digitally 4. If you're concerned, take screenshots of your uploads as proof I'd recommend waiting 48 hours before taking any additional action. If you don't see the documents in your account by then, you can try calling the claims center directly.

•Thank you! This is really helpful. I'll wait the 48 hours then try calling if I don't see anything. Do you know what hours they're actually answering phones? Last time I tried calling I was on hold forever.

I went through this exact situation in January. Tried calling NYSDOL about it and spent HOURS on hold getting nowhere. After trying for days, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through to an agent in about 15 minutes. They confirmed my documents were received even though the system never showed confirmation. Saved me from unnecessarily resubmitting everything! They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•It's definitely legit - they don't access your account or anything, they just connect you through to an actual NYSDOL agent. I was skeptical too but was desperate after 3 days of constant busy signals.

I had a similar issue but with the 1099-G tax form upload. The system is really inconsistent with confirmations. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. I ended up calling after a week and the agent said my docs were there. Their system is just terrible with user feedback.

As a former UI claims specialist (not in NY but similar system), I can tell you these systems often record the upload without providing confirmation. However, there are a few things that could have gone wrong: - File size too large (over 5MB per file) - Wrong file format (only PDFs, JPGs, and PNGs are accepted) - Poor image quality (if scanning documents) - Session timeout during upload One important thing: if the upload page went completely blank without an error message, that usually means the upload WAS successful. Error pages typically display when something goes wrong.

•That's really reassuring, thank you! My files were all PDFs and under 5MB, so hopefully they went through. The blank page makes more sense now.

My sister works for NYSDOL and she says their system is undergoing updates right now in 2025 which is causing all kinds of glitches!!! She said DONT reupload documents because it creates duplicate files and confuses the system. Just wait 3-5 business days and if nothing appears in your account THEN call them.

UPDATE: I finally got through to someone at NYSDOL today! They confirmed my documents were successfully received despite no confirmation email. The agent said their system has been having issues with confirmation emails for several weeks now, but uploads are still working. So if anyone else has this problem, your documents are probably fine!

•Great news! Thanks for updating the thread. This will help others with the same issue know they don't need to panic or resubmit documents.

Thanks for the update! This is super helpful to know. I just went through the same thing yesterday - uploaded all my documents and got the blank page with no confirmation. I was starting to worry I'd have to start over. It's reassuring to hear that the uploads are still working even with the email confirmation issues. Hopefully they fix this soon since it causes so much unnecessary stress for people already dealing with unemployment!

•Totally agree! I'm new to this whole unemployment process and that blank page had me convinced I'd messed something up. It's crazy that they haven't fixed such a basic user experience issue - like how hard is it to show a simple "upload successful" message? At least now I know not to stress about it, but you're right that it adds unnecessary anxiety during an already stressful time.

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Just uploaded my documents about an hour ago and got the dreaded blank page. Reading through all these comments is such a relief - I was convinced I'd have to start the whole process over again. It's honestly ridiculous that in 2025 we're still dealing with government websites that can't provide basic confirmation messages. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, especially @Yara Nassar for the update that your documents were actually received! Going to follow the advice here and wait a few days before panicking.

•@Giovanni Martello I m'in the exact same boat as you! Just went through this yesterday and was freaking out about the blank page. It s'so frustrating that such a basic thing like upload confirmation is broken on their system. But reading through everyone s'experiences here, especially Yara s'update that her docs were actually received, gives me hope that ours probably went through too. Definitely going to wait the 3-5 business days like @Javier Torres mentioned before trying anything else. It s wild'that we have to rely on community forums to figure out if government systems are working properly!

Just went through this same nightmare last week! The blank page after uploading is so stressful when you're already worried about your claim. I ended up calling the NYSDOL customer service line multiple times over 3 days before finally getting through to someone who confirmed my documents were received. The agent told me they've been having issues with their confirmation system since they started rolling out updates in early 2025. She said the blank page actually usually means the upload worked - it's when you get error messages that you should worry. Still incredibly frustrating that they haven't prioritized fixing something so basic that causes so much anxiety for people who are already dealing with unemployment stress!

•Thanks for sharing your experience @Maxwell St. Laurent! It s'both reassuring and frustrating to hear that this is such a widespread issue. I m'relatively new to dealing with unemployment claims and honestly had no idea that government systems could be this unreliable with basic functionality. The fact that a blank page actually indicates success is so counterintuitive - like, who designs a system where no feedback means everything worked correctly? I m'glad you eventually got confirmation from an agent though. Did you have any tips for getting through to someone on the phone? I ve'heard the wait times can be brutal.

Just wanted to add my recent experience to help others going through this! I had the exact same blank page issue when uploading my documents two weeks ago. After reading through this thread, I decided to wait the recommended 3-5 business days before panicking. Sure enough, when I logged into my NY.gov account after about 4 days, I could see all my documents had been processed and were showing as "received" in my claim status. The key thing I learned is to check your overall claim status page rather than looking for a specific "Documents" tab - the uploaded files show up as part of your claim timeline. It's definitely a relief to know this is just a system glitch and not actually a failed upload! Hopefully they fix the confirmation issue soon since it's clearly causing unnecessary stress for so many people.

•@Mei Liu This is exactly what I needed to hear! I just went through the document upload process this morning and got that same terrifying blank page. I was about to start uploading everything again when I found this thread. Your tip about checking the claim status page instead of looking for a Documents tab is super helpful - I didn t'even know where to look for confirmation. It s'really reassuring to know that waiting 4 days worked for you and the documents actually showed up as received. I think I ll'follow your advice and check my claim timeline in a few days rather than stressing about it now. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience - it s'crazy how much peace of mind these community updates provide when the official system is so unreliable!

I'm going through this exact same situation right now! Just uploaded my required documents about 30 minutes ago and got that dreaded blank page with zero confirmation. Reading through everyone's experiences here is such a huge relief - I was literally about to start the whole upload process over again thinking I'd broken something. It's honestly mind-boggling that in 2025 a government system can't provide a simple "upload successful" message, but at least now I know this is a widespread issue and not just me. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences, especially @Yara Nassar for the update that your docs were actually received despite no confirmation, and @Mei Liu for the tip about checking the claim status timeline instead of looking for a Documents tab. Going to follow the advice here and wait 3-5 business days before panicking. Fingers crossed the system actually worked behind the scenes!

•@Olivia Martinez You re'definitely not alone in this! I just joined this community because I m'dealing with the exact same issue. Uploaded my documents yesterday and got that same blank page - no confirmation, no error message, nothing. It s'honestly ridiculous that we have to come to community forums to figure out if a basic government function is working properly. But reading through all these experiences, especially knowing that @Yara Nassar and @Mei Liu both had their documents successfully processed despite the blank page, gives me some hope. I m going to'follow everyone s advice and'wait it out rather than risk creating duplicate uploads. It s just so'frustrating that something as simple as an upload confirmation is broken on their system!

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Just uploaded all my documents for my NY unemployment claim and got the blank page with absolutely no confirmation. I was starting to panic thinking I'd have to redo everything, but reading through all these comments is such a relief. It's incredible that in 2025 we still have to deal with government systems that can't provide basic upload confirmations. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - it's so helpful to know this is a widespread system issue and not something I did wrong. Based on what everyone's saying, I'm going to wait the 3-5 business days before trying to contact them. Hopefully they fix this confirmation bug soon since it's clearly causing unnecessary stress for people who are already dealing with the challenges of unemployment!

•@GalaxyGuardian Welcome to the club! I literally just went through this same exact situation last week and it's so frustrating. The blank page after uploading is terrifying when you're already stressed about your unemployment claim. But honestly, finding this thread and reading everyone's experiences has been a lifesaver. It's reassuring to know that so many people have had their documents successfully processed despite getting no confirmation. I ended up waiting the full 5 business days like everyone recommended, and sure enough, when I checked my claim status timeline, all my documents showed up as received. The system is definitely broken when it comes to user feedback, but it seems like the actual uploads are working behind the scenes. Hang in there and try not to stress too much - based on everyone's experiences here, your documents probably went through just fine!
