Filed OED claim & faxed docs a week ago - how to confirm they received everything?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I filed a claim with the unemployment office last week and faxed them all the required documents. Now I'm wondering if they actually received everything I sent. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How long does it usually take for them to process the faxed documents? I'm getting anxious about the whole thing and could use some advice.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar a few months ago. It's so frustrating not knowing if they got your stuff or not. Have you tried calling them? Fair warning though, getting through on the phone is like trying to win the lottery 🙄

•I tried calling but kept getting a busy signal. It's driving me crazy! How long did it take for them to process your documents?

•It took about 2 weeks for me, but I've heard it can vary. Keep trying to call, sometimes early morning works better. Good luck!

•2 weeks? You got lucky! I've been waiting for over a month now. This system is so broken 😤

Pro tip: Next time, use certified mail instead of faxing. It costs a bit more, but at least you'll have proof they received it. Learned that the hard way after my faxed docs mysteriously 'disappeared' twice 🙃

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/MCgaMJPY8Us

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but trust me, it's worth it. I wasted hours trying to get through before. This saved me so much time and stress.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually contact you. Might be worth a look!

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep a record of EVERYTHING. Dates you faxed, what you faxed, confirmation numbers, etc. 2. Call them every other day. Yes, it's a pain, but persistence pays off. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. Sometimes they respond there. 4. Consider contacting your local representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 5. Don't give up! The system is designed to wear you down, but stay strong. Remember, you're not alone in this. We're all in the same leaky boat, trying to stay afloat in this bureaucratic ocean. Hang in there!

•Totally agree. The whole system needs an overhaul. It's not the 1980s anymore, why are we still faxing things?!

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you keep calling even if you think they received your docs. I assumed they got mine and waited... big mistake. Turns out they needed additional info and never bothered to tell me. Cost me weeks of benefits 😑
