Can't find where to submit required NY unemployment documents - deadline in 7 days!
Is anyone else completely lost trying to submit documents for NY unemployment verification? I just got a reminder notice 3 weeks ago saying they sent me a previous email (which I never received!) about submitting required documents. When I click the link they provided, I can't figure out where I'm supposed to upload anything! The website is so confusing and there's no clear instructions. I only have 7 DAYS left before the deadline and I'm freaking out! Has anyone gone through this process recently? I'm worried my benefits will get cut off if I don't get this sorted out. 🤦🏻♀️

I had the same issue last month! It's definitely not obvious where to submit documents. Once you log in through the link, look for the 'My Documents' tab at the top of the page. If you don't see that, go to your dashboard and look for 'Document Center' or 'Required Documentation' in the left sidebar. You might need to click through a couple screens acknowledging you understand the requirements before the actual upload button appears. It's super unintuitive!

•Thank you for responding! I've been looking everywhere and I still don't see a 'My Documents' tab or anything about a Document Center. All I get is my regular dashboard with benefit payment history. Is there a specific section I need to click on first? I'm so confused and getting more anxious as days pass.

dont worry 2 much, this happens to alot of people. the website is confusing AF. try logging out completely, clear your browser cache and then log back in. sometimes the link doesnt work right if u just click it from the email.

The NY unemployment system has specific paths for document submissions that can be confusing to navigate. Here's the exact process: 1. Log in to your NY.gov ID account 2. Select 'Unemployment Services' from your account homepage 3. Look for 'Document Requirements' under the 'My Online Forms' section 4. Select the specific document request by clicking 'View' next to it 5. On the next page, you'll see a 'Upload Documents' button at the bottom If you don't see these options, it could mean your account might have a linking issue between the notification system and your dashboard. This happens frequently in 2025 since they updated the system in January. You might need to call NYSDOL directly to get this resolved before your deadline.

•Thank you for the detailed steps! I followed them exactly but still can't find 'Document Requirements' under 'My Online Forms.' I only see 'Weekly Certification' and 'Payment History.' I've been trying to call them for two days but can't get through to a real person. Just endless automated messages and then disconnection.

I WENT THROUGH THIS EXACT NIGHTMARE last month and almost lost my benefits!! The online system is COMPLETELY BROKEN and they don't care!! I spent DAYS trying to upload documents with no success. If you call the regular number you'll never get through - it's designed to keep us from getting help!!! They send these notices but make it IMPOSSIBLE to comply and then punish US for THEIR mistakes!!!!

•While the system definitely has issues, there are still ways to get this resolved. The key is reaching an actual representative who can either help you submit documents directly or send you a specific direct link for uploading.

After dealing with this same issue and trying to call for days, I finally found a service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours on hold or getting disconnected. The agent was able to send me a direct document upload link that bypassed the broken website navigation. Check out their demo at https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - definitely worth it when you're facing a deadline like this. I was skeptical at first but it saved me from missing my documentation deadline last week. Their website is claimyr.com if you want to look into it.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I just tried with Firefox but still having the same problem. This is so frustrating when they give such a short deadline!

Hey there, when I had this issue, it turned out my account was flagged for identity verification but the notification wasn't showing up correctly. What worked for me was going into my profile settings and updating my contact information (even if it's already correct). For some reason, this triggered the system to refresh and suddenly the document upload section appeared! Might be worth trying before you panic too much.

•That's an interesting workaround! I'll try updating my contact info right now and see if that refreshes something in the system. Willing to try anything at this point with only 6 days left.

The system has been total garbage since they "upgraded" it in January 2025. My cousin lost 6 WEEKS of benefits because of their document upload problems and had to appeal! They make it IMPOSSIBLE on purpose so they can deny claims!!!

•While the system definitely has problems, I don't think they're deliberately making it difficult. The January update had major bugs they're still working through. If you're having trouble, definitely try reaching an agent directly - they can often resolve these issues quickly once you actually speak with someone.

UPDATE: I finally got this resolved! After trying everything suggested here, I ended up using that Claimyr service to reach an agent (took about 30 mins). The agent explained that my account had a technical glitch where the document upload module wasn't linking properly to my dashboard. She sent me a direct link through my message center and I was able to upload everything! Apparently this is happening to a lot of people after their system update. Thanks everyone for your help - I was having panic attacks about losing my benefits!

•That's great news! This is becoming a common issue with the 2025 system update. For anyone else experiencing this: always check your message center inside your account, as agents can send direct upload links there even when the main interface isn't showing the document section correctly.

So glad you got this resolved! I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now - can't find the document upload section anywhere on my dashboard. The Claimyr service sounds promising but I'm a bit hesitant about using a third-party service for something this important. For anyone else who used it, did you feel comfortable giving them access to your unemployment account? I'm worried about security but also desperate to get through to someone before my deadline hits.

•I totally understand your security concerns about using third-party services! I was hesitant too initially. From what I've researched, Claimyr doesn't actually get access to your account - they use automated calling systems to get you connected to a real agent faster, then you handle everything directly with the official NYSDOL representative yourself. But if you're not comfortable with that approach, you could also try calling the NYSDOL technical support line early in the morning (like 8 AM sharp) when call volumes are typically lower. Some people have reported better success getting through that way, though it might take several attempts.

I'm going through this exact same nightmare right now! Got the same confusing notice about documents I supposedly received weeks ago (never got it) and the deadline is approaching fast. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and terrifying - reassuring that I'm not the only one dealing with this broken system, but terrifying that so many people are having the same issues with no clear solution. I've tried logging in multiple times, different browsers, clearing cache, updating my profile info as suggested, but still no luck finding any document upload section. The website just shows my regular benefit info and weekly certifications. Has anyone found a reliable way to reach the technical support line specifically? I'm worried about using third-party services but also running out of time and options!

•I completely feel your frustration! I'm going through something similar with document submission issues. From what I've gathered reading through this thread, it seems like the January 2025 system update has created widespread glitches where the document upload sections just aren't displaying properly for many users. You're definitely not alone in this! A few suggestions based on what's worked for others here: Try calling right at 8 AM when the lines open - that seems to be when you have the best shot at getting through to someone. Also, make sure to check your message center inside your account regularly, as agents can apparently send direct upload links there even when the main interface is broken. The technical support number might be different from the regular claims line, so it could be worth googling for the specific NYSDOL technical help number. Don't give up - it sounds like once you actually reach someone, they can resolve this pretty quickly by sending you a working link!

I went through this exact same situation about 2 weeks ago and it was incredibly stressful! What finally worked for me was calling the NYSDOL main number at exactly 8:00 AM on a Tuesday - I got through after about 45 minutes on hold. The representative told me that there's been a widespread issue since the January system update where the document upload portal isn't appearing for many users, but their IT team can manually send you a direct upload link. She immediately sent me a secure link through my message center that bypassed all the broken navigation. Make sure to check your message center frequently after you speak with someone - the link appeared there within about 10 minutes of our call. Also, have all your documents ready to go as PDFs because once you get the link, you'll want to upload everything right away. Don't panic - this is definitely a known system issue and they can fix it once you reach the right person!

•Thank you so much for sharing your experience! This gives me a lot of hope. I'm definitely going to try calling right at 8 AM tomorrow morning - Tuesday seems like good timing based on your success. It's reassuring to know that this is a widespread known issue and not something I'm doing wrong. I've been checking my regular email obsessively but hadn't thought to check the message center within my account - I'll make sure to monitor that closely after I speak with someone. Having my documents ready as PDFs is great advice too. Really appreciate you taking the time to share the specific steps that worked for you!

I'm dealing with this exact same problem right now and it's been driving me crazy! I received that same confusing notice about documents I never got, and like everyone else here, I can't find any upload section anywhere on my dashboard. After reading through all these experiences, it's clear this is a major system-wide issue affecting tons of people since the January update. I'm going to try calling at 8 AM sharp tomorrow morning and also keep checking my message center for any direct links from agents. It's somewhat comforting to know I'm not alone in this mess, but also frustrating that such a critical system can be this broken when people's livelihoods depend on it. Thanks to everyone for sharing their solutions - this thread has been more helpful than any official NYSDOL guidance I've found!

•You're absolutely right that this thread has been incredibly helpful - way more than anything official from NYSDOL! I'm in the same boat as you and everyone else here. It's both frustrating and oddly reassuring to see so many people dealing with the exact same technical glitch. I've been stressing out thinking I was missing something obvious, but clearly this January system update has created a nightmare for tons of claimants. The 8 AM calling strategy seems to be the most consistent advice here, so I'm planning to try that tomorrow too. I also appreciate everyone mentioning to check the message center within the account - I had no idea agents could send direct upload links there. It's crazy that we have to become detective-level researchers just to submit required documents, but at least we're all figuring it out together! Good luck with your call tomorrow - hopefully we can both get this resolved quickly once we reach the right person.

This whole thread is giving me so much relief - I thought I was going crazy! I'm facing the exact same document upload nightmare and my deadline is in 4 days. Like everyone else, I got that notice about documents I supposedly received weeks ago (never got them) and there's absolutely no upload section visible anywhere on my dashboard. I've tried every browser, cleared cache multiple times, logged out and back in, updated my profile info - nothing works. The system just shows my regular weekly certification and payment history like normal. Reading all these experiences, it's obvious this is a massive system glitch affecting tons of people since January, not user error. I'm definitely going to try the 8 AM calling strategy tomorrow and will obsessively check my message center for any direct links from agents. It's ridiculous that we have to become system troubleshooting experts just to comply with their requirements, but I'm grateful everyone here is sharing solutions. Fingers crossed I can get through to someone who can send me that magical direct upload link! 🤞

•I'm going through the exact same thing and this thread has been a lifesaver! Your 4-day deadline situation sounds incredibly stressful. Based on what everyone's shared, it really does seem like calling right at 8 AM is the best strategy - multiple people have had success that way. I'd also suggest having a backup plan ready in case the first call doesn't work out. Some folks mentioned trying different days of the week, so if Tuesday doesn't work, maybe try Wednesday or Thursday. The key thing seems to be getting to an actual human who can manually send you that direct upload link through your message center. It's absolutely insane that such a critical system can be this broken, but at least we know it's fixable once you reach the right person. Wishing you the best of luck with your call tomorrow - you've got this! 🤞

I'm experiencing this exact same issue right now and this thread has been incredibly helpful! Got that same mysterious notice about documents I supposedly received weeks ago (spoiler alert: never got them) and my deadline is approaching fast. Like everyone else, I can't find any document upload section anywhere on my dashboard - just the usual weekly certification and payment history. It's both maddening and oddly comforting to see so many people dealing with the same January system update glitches. Based on all the advice here, I'm planning to call right at 8 AM tomorrow morning and will religiously check my message center for any direct upload links from agents. It's absolutely wild that we need to become IT troubleshooters just to submit required documents, but I'm grateful for everyone sharing their solutions and experiences. This community support is honestly better than any official help I've found from NYSDOL!

•I'm so glad this thread exists too! I just went through this nightmare last week and can confirm that the 8 AM calling strategy really works. I got through on my third attempt (Wednesday morning) after about 30 minutes on hold. The agent immediately knew what I was talking about when I mentioned the missing document upload section - apparently they're getting dozens of calls daily about this exact issue. She sent me a direct link through my message center within 5 minutes of our call, and I was able to upload everything successfully. Just a heads up though - make sure your documents are under 5MB each and in PDF format, because the direct link they send has stricter file requirements than the regular portal. Also, the link expires after 48 hours, so don't wait to use it! You've got this - it's definitely stressful but totally resolvable once you reach someone who knows how to fix the glitch.

I'm going through this exact nightmare right now too! Just got that same confusing notice about documents I supposedly received weeks ago (never got them either) and I'm completely lost trying to find where to upload anything. My deadline is in 5 days and I'm starting to panic. Based on everyone's advice here, I'm definitely going to try calling right at 8 AM tomorrow and will keep obsessively checking my message center for any direct links. It's absolutely insane that we have to become system detectives just to comply with their requirements, but I'm so grateful for everyone sharing their experiences and solutions.
