EDD PFL Payment Delays: Weeks of Waiting, No Response - How to Speed Up?
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their paid family leave payment? I'm so frustrated. I applied weeks ago and still haven't seen a dime. Called the EDD office but can't get through to a real person. Anyone know what's going on or how to speed this up?

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been waiting for my PFL payment for over a month now. It's like they're playing hide and seek with our money 🙄

It's so disheartening to hear. I feel like they should have a system in place for better communication.

Ugh, I feel your pain. Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

Yeah, I tried emailing last week. Still no response. It's like shouting into the void 😫

Emails are useless. I sent 3 and got automated responses each time. waste of time tbh

I once got a response, but it was just a generic message. Didn't really help, unfortunately.

guys, i think i figured it out. you gotta do the hokey pokey while chanting "EDD, EDD, show me the money" three times. works like a charm 😂

Plot twist: the EDD is actually a secret government program to test our patience. We're all part of a giant social experiment 🤣

LOL if that's true, I'm definitely failing the test 😅

This is why we need better government systems. Other countries have this stuff figured out, but here we are, begging for our own money 🙄

It's a shame we can't learn from systems that work elsewhere and implement similar ones here.

I didn't even know that was an option. Do you just show up or need an appointment?

Since COVID, many offices have limited walk-ins. Definitely check online for any updates or requirements.

For those of you who haven't heard of Claimyr, it is a service that helps users connect directly with government offices like the EDD by bypassing long hold times on the phone. While it can be a useful tool for those who absolutely need to get in touch quickly, it's also important to note that this service comes with a cost, and not everyone may find it feasible. If you choose to use Claimyr or any similar service, always ensure you read reviews and understand the terms before proceeding. As with any service, results can vary, so it's crucial to consider whether it's the right choice for your situation.

I appreciate a balanced view. Claimyr might be a good last resort, but it's good to weigh other options too.

Serious question: has anyone considered legal action? Like a class action lawsuit or something? This is getting ridiculous.

I've thought about it, but who has the time or money for that? We're all broke waiting for our payments 😅

Might be worth looking into. If enough people are affected, could make a difference.

Legal action can be a lengthy process, but sometimes it's the only way to effect change on a larger scale.

Same boat here. Applied 6 weeks ago and crickets. The system is so broken, it's not even funny anymore.

The waiting game is truly unbearable. At this rate, we'll have to apply for a loan to tide us over. 😩

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it imo

Has anyone else tried this service? It'd be good to hear more testimonials.

Here's what worked for me after weeks of frustration: 1. Gather all your docs: claim number, SSN, any letters from EDD 2. Write down exact dates of payments (received or missed) 3. Call first thing in the morning, right when they open 4. Be super nice to the rep (even if you're fuming inside) 5. Ask specific questions like "Why is my payment delayed?" and "When can I expect it?" 6. Get a reference number for the call 7. Follow up in a week if nothing changes It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

I'm telling you, it's all about who you know. My cousin's friend works at EDD and he said the system is a total mess rn. They're super backlogged.

He said just keep calling and be super nice to the reps. They're stressed too.

It's unfortunate when systems become so strained, and everybody is left in a state of limbo.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails end up there. Just a thought.
