EDD has all my docs but still no payment - how to actually reach a human??
I'm so frustrated with the EDD. They have all my documents but still haven't processed my payment. I've been waiting for weeks and can't get through to anyone on the phone. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to speed things up or actually talk to a human?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for months now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to get help. Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

I've tried emailing but just get generic responses. It's so frustrating. How long have you been waiting?

Going on 3 months now. It's ridiculous. I've sent multiple emails and documents. Starting to feel like I'm shouting into the void 😫

3 months?! That's insane. The system is so broken. We need to start a petition or something to fix this mess.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me! Got through to an agent in about an hour. Worth every penny tbh.

Wow, might have to try this. Beats calling 100 times a day and getting nowhere 🤷♂️

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right when they open at 8am 2. If you get the "too many callers" message, hang up and redial immediately 3. Keep doing this until you get in the queue 4. Once in queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long the wait 5. When you finally talk to someone, be super nice (they deal with angry people all day) 6. Ask for a supervisor if the rep can't help It took me like 2 hours of redialing, but I finally got through and got my issue resolved. Good luck!

This is great info, thanks for sharing! Do you know if there's a best day of the week to call?

In my experience, Tuesdays and Wednesdays seem to be slightly better. Mondays and Fridays are usually the worst. But honestly, it's always a bit of a crapshoot 🎲

have you tried contacting your local assembly member? They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD. worth a shot!

Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul. It's 2023, why can't they get their act together?

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of the other departments and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works like a charm 😉

The employer line or the disability insurance line usually have shorter waits. Just be super polite when asking for a transfer!
