EDD hasn't paid me, can't reach anyone on phone. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating time with EDD. They haven't paid me and I can't seem to get through to anyone on the phone. I've been trying for weeks now. Anyone else dealing with this? Any tips on how to actually talk to a human there?

I found a way to solve EDD payment and contact issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJqyxnOLIok

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat for months. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🙄 Have you tried calling right when they open? That sometimes worked for me.

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck so far. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call at 7:59am and keep redialing until you get through. It's a pain, but it worked for me eventually.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything.

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure! You just go to their website, choose the EDD line, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to do anything during that time.

Have you tried contacting your local assembly member? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD.

This is why the system is broken. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get what we're owed. It's ridiculous!

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Persistence is key. Don't give up. 2. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls and attempts. 3. Use their online portal as much as possible for updates. 4. If you do get through, get the name and ID of the person you speak with. 5. Be polite but firm. The person on the other end is probably overwhelmed too. 6. Consider reaching out to your local representatives for help. 7. Join EDD-focused Facebook groups for more tips and support. 8. If all else fails, consider using a paid service to get through (though be cautious). Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but keep pushing. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 3 months now. This is seriously affecting my ability to pay rent and buy food. Anyone know if there are any emergency resources available while we wait for EDD to get their act together?

Check out local food banks and see if your city has any rent assistance programs. It's not much, but it might help tide you over.

Have you looked into 211? They can connect you with various resources in your area.
