EDD payment not received - no updates on UI Online. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment payment. I haven't received it yet and I'm getting worried. I checked my account online but there's no update or message about the status. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?

Have you tried calling EDD? Sometimes they have info that doesn't show up online. It's a pain to get through, but it might be worth a shot.

•I haven't called yet. The thought of being on hold for hours is giving me anxiety 😰 But you're right, I might have to bite the bullet and do it.

•Calling is the worst! I spent 3 hours on hold last week only to get disconnected right when someone picked up. The system is so broken 🤬

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in like 20 minutes doing that.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to get someone on the line for you?

•It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Its been 3 weeks since my last payment and radio silence from EDD. This is so stressful!

Have you checked if there's any action required on your end? Sometimes they need additional info and don't make it super clear. Log into UI Online and look for any pending forms or certifications.

•Good idea, I'll double check that. Thanks for the suggestion!

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was holding up payments for a bunch of people. It got resolved after about 10 days. Might be worth checking if others are experiencing the same thing right now.

•How did you find out about the glitch? Did EDD actually admit to a problem? 🤔

•Lol no, EDD admitting to a problem? That'll be the day 😂 I found out through a Facebook group for CA unemployment issues. Lots of people were posting about the same problem.

Here's what I would do: 1. Double-check your UI Online account for any pending forms or certifications 2. Look for any correspondence in your UI Online inbox 3. Verify your payment method is correct (Bank of America card or direct deposit) 4. Check if your benefit year has ended - you might need to file a new claim 5. Make sure you've been certifying for benefits every two weeks 6. If all else fails, try to contact EDD (I know, easier said than done) If none of these work, you might want to reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through with EDD. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but don't give up!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll go through this checklist and see if I can figure out what's going on. Really appreciate the help! 🙏

•This is great advice. Wish I had this list when I was struggling with my claim last year!

Unpopular opinion: maybe try looking for a job instead of relying on unemployment? 🤷♂️

•Dude, read the room. People are here because they're struggling, not because they want a lecture.
