Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting your local state representative's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push things along.

Hey OP, quick question - when you say 're-assign eligibility', do you mean you're trying to backdate your claim? Cuz if so, that's a whole different process and you might need to talk to a specific department for that.
Good question! I'm not trying to backdate, just update the end date of my eligibility period. My doctor extended my disability time, so I need to reflect that in my claim.
Ah, gotcha. In that case, you'll need to submit a 'Claim Extension' form. You can usually do this online through your EDD account. Might save you some phone time!

Hey OP, when you do get through to someone, make sure to get their name and employee ID. It helps if you need to follow up or if theres any discrepancy later. Also, dont be afraid to ask for a supervisor if youre not getting anywhere with the first person you talk to. Stay strong! 💪
