Anybody else notice that the DI system seems to be getting worse? I remember a few years ago it was much smoother. Budget cuts maybe?
Definitely! It's like they're trying to discourage people from claiming. Conspiracy theory: maybe that's the point? 🤔
Nah, I think it's just the system being overloaded. Remember how crazy it got during covid? Probably still catching up.
Hey OP, what was the exact wording on your notice? Sometimes the language they use can give clues about whats really going on with your claim.
Not to be that guy, but did you check your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from EDD end up there.
Ive been dealing with edd for 3 months now. its a nightmare. solidarity, friend. we're all in this hellscape together ðŸ˜
3 months?! Oh god, I hope mine doesn't take that long. Sending you good vibes!
have u tried checkin the online portal? sometimes they update stuff there b4 they actually contact u
Congrats on the new addition to your family! 🎉👶 Don't let the bureaucracy get you down. This time is precious, try to enjoy it despite the hassle.
Pro tip: if you're not sure what needs to be corrected, ask them to go over your claim with you in detail. Sometimes they can spot issues you might have missed. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions if something doesn't make sense!
Just a heads up, the disability office has been swamped lately due to all the covid-related claims. Be prepared for a potentially long wait time, even if you do get through. Bring a book or something to keep you occupied while on hold!

Hey OP, quick question - when you say 're-assign eligibility', do you mean you're trying to backdate your claim? Cuz if so, that's a whole different process and you might need to talk to a specific department for that.

•Good question! I'm not trying to backdate, just update the end date of my eligibility period. My doctor extended my disability time, so I need to reflect that in my claim.

•Ah, gotcha. In that case, you'll need to submit a 'Claim Extension' form. You can usually do this online through your EDD account. Might save you some phone time!

pro tip: if u cant get thru on the main line, try calling some of the other edd numbers (like the employer line) and ask to be transferred. worked for me last month!
