EDD payment missing this week - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm freaking out here. I didn't get my benefit payment this week and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm worried about bills piling up and I can't get through to anyone on the phone. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating when payments don't come through on time. Have you checked your online account to see if there's any info about why it might be delayed?

Yeah, I checked but there's nothing there. It just shows my last payment from two weeks ago. I'm worried something's wrong with my claim 😰

Sometimes the system glitches and doesn't update right away. Give it a day or two and check again. If it's still not there, def try to get ahold of someone.

Thanks, I'll try to be patient. It's just so stressful when you're counting on that money to come through.

This happened to me last month. Turns out there was a hold on my account because they needed additional info. Did you get any letters or emails recently?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I get it, but when you're missing hundreds in benefits, $20 to actually get it resolved is worth it to me. But yeah, the system sucks.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your certification dates. Make sure you didn't miss a week. 2. Look for any pending forms or questionnaires in your online account. 3. Check if your benefit year ended. You might need to file a new claim. 4. If everything looks good, there might be a system delay. Give it 48-72 hours. 5. Still nothing? You HAVE to call. Use the trick in the comment above or keep dialing. 6. Document everything. Note who you talked to and what they said. 7. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hang in there! The EDD system is a mess, but persistence pays off. 💪

I've been dealing with payment issues for MONTHS. It's a nightmare. I've called hundreds of times, sent emails, even went to the office in person. Nothing works. I'm at my wits end.

That sounds awful. Have you considered reaching out to your local representatives? Sometimes they can help push things through.

I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a shot. At this point, I'm willing to try anything. Thanks for the suggestion!

PSA: Always keep copies of EVERYTHING you submit to EDD. I learned this the hard way when they "lost" my documents and my payments got delayed for weeks.

Anyone else notice that these issues seem to happen more often at the end of the quarter? I wonder if it's because theyre processing a bunch of new claims or something.

Yooo I thought I was the only one who noticed this! You might be onto something 🤔

OP, make sure you're not hitting your benefit cap. I freaked out when my payment didn't come, but it turned out I had just reached the maximum benefit amount. Check your total claim balance!

Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I'll definitely check. Thanks for the tip!
