When will Washington ESD unemployment pay - my weekly claim shows processed but no payment yet
Filed my weekly claim on Sunday like always and it shows processed in my account but still no payment showing up. This is week 3 of my benefits and the first two weeks came through fine, usually by Tuesday. It's Thursday now and I'm starting to worry something went wrong. My bank account is still empty and bills are due tomorrow. Has anyone else had their Washington ESD payments delayed this week? Should I be concerned or is this normal sometimes?

Same thing happened to me last month! Took an extra 2 days but it eventually came through

•Did you ever find out why it was delayed? I'm getting really anxious about this.

•Washington ESD said there was some kind of system processing issue that week. Nothing I did wrong.

Check your payment history in your SecureAccess Washington account. Sometimes it shows pending there before it hits your bank. Also make sure your direct deposit info is still correct.

•Just checked and it does say pending! Thank you, that makes me feel better. Bank info looks right too.

•Great! Pending usually means it'll hit your account within 24-48 hours.

I've been dealing with Washington ESD payment delays for months. The system is just overwhelmed. If you need to talk to someone about your specific claim, I found this service called Claimyr at claimyr.com that actually gets you through to ESD agents. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works.

•Really? I've been trying to call for weeks and can never get through. How does this work exactly?

Zara Ahmed
•It basically calls for you and waits in the queue, then connects you when an agent picks up. Saved me hours of calling.

•Is this legit? Sounds too good to be true honestly.

Washington ESD payments usually process Tuesday-Wednesday if you file Sunday. Thursday is getting late but not unheard of, especially if there's a holiday or system maintenance.

Diego Ramirez
•No holidays this week though. Maybe it's just a system thing like the other person said.

•They do maintenance on Sundays sometimes which can push everything back a day or two.

UGH this happened to me THREE TIMES last month. Washington ESD's system is a joke. They act like we don't have bills to pay!

Diego Ramirez
•Exactly! Like we're just sitting around not needing the money. So frustrating.

•I get the frustration but the delays are usually just processing backlogs, not intentional.

•Still doesn't make it okay when people are struggling to eat.

Try logging out and back into your account. Sometimes the payment status doesn't update right away on the website.

•Good idea, I'll try that now.

been waiting 2 weeks for mine still says pending this is ridiculous

•Two weeks pending is definitely not normal. You should call Washington ESD about that or your claim might have an issue.

•tried calling like 50 times cant get through

•That's exactly why I started using Claimyr. The regular phone lines are impossible.

Mine came through this morning finally. Was worried for nothing I guess. Washington ESD is just slow sometimes.

Diego Ramirez
•That's reassuring! Hopefully mine shows up tomorrow then.

Make sure you didn't accidentally answer any weekly claim questions wrong. Sometimes if you say you worked or earned money it can trigger a review even if it's just a few dollars.

Diego Ramirez
•I double-checked my answers and they all look right. Same as the previous weeks that went through fine.

Yuki Tanaka
•Good. Then it's probably just a processing delay like others said.

I'm curious about this Claimyr thing mentioned earlier. Has anyone else actually used it successfully?

•My sister used it last month when her claim got stuck in adjudication. She said it worked great and got her connected to someone in like 20 minutes.

•Wow okay that's actually pretty convincing. The regular lines are absolutely useless.

•Yeah it's definitely worth checking out their demo video if you're dealing with Washington ESD issues regularly.

Banks can also delay things on their end sometimes. If Washington ESD sent the payment but your bank is processing it slowly that's not ESD's fault.

•True, though my previous payments came through the same bank just fine. But good point.

Thursday is still within the normal range honestly. I wouldn't panic until it's been a full week with no payment.

•That's good to know. I was thinking maybe 3-4 days was the cutoff for when to worry.

CyberNinja
•Nah, I've had them take up to 6 business days before and it was fine. Just system slowness.

Check if Washington ESD sent you any messages or letters. Sometimes they need additional info before releasing payment.

Diego Ramirez
•No messages in my account and no mail either. Everything looks normal on my end.

this whole system is broken honestly. took me 3 months to get my first payment last year because of their stupid adjudication process

Diego Ramirez
•Three months?! That's insane. How did you survive that long?
0 coins
Zoe Papadopoulos
•barely did. had to borrow money from family and use food banks

•Adjudication delays are unfortunately common but 3 months is extreme. Most resolve within 4-6 weeks.

UPDATE: Payment just showed up in my account! Took until Friday morning but it's there. Thanks everyone for the reassurance and tips!

For future reference, Washington ESD payments typically process Tuesday-Thursday. Friday is the latest I've seen for normal weekly claims.

•If it doesn't come by Monday you should definitely call Washington ESD or use one of those callback services.

I've noticed Washington ESD payments seem to be slower lately in general. Maybe they're having system issues or higher volume.

CyberNinja
•Could be. Unemployment claims have been up with all the layoffs happening lately.

Just remember for everyone reading this - if your payment is seriously delayed (like more than a week), don't just wait. Contact Washington ESD because there might be an actual issue with your claim.

Diego Ramirez
•Great advice. I was probably going to call Monday if it hadn't shown up by then.

•And if you can't get through their regular lines, definitely check out Claimyr. Makes the whole process so much easier.
