Is the Washington ESD unemployment system down today - can't access my claim
I've been trying to file my weekly claim since 6am and the Washington ESD website keeps timing out or giving me error messages. Is anyone else having trouble accessing their unemployment account today? I'm worried I'm going to miss the deadline to file my weekly claim and lose my benefits. The SecureAccess Washington login page loads but then when I try to get to my actual claim it just spins forever.

•At least I'm not the only one. This is so stressful when you're already worried about money.

•Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, sometimes that helps with the Washington ESD site glitches

The Washington ESD system has been having intermittent outages this week. You have until 11:59 PM on Sunday to file your weekly claim, so don't panic yet. If the system is still down later today, keep trying throughout the weekend.

•Thank you! I didn't realize I had until Sunday. That takes some pressure off.

•Wait, I thought weekly claims had to be filed by Friday? When did that change?

•You're thinking of the old system. With the current Washington ESD online portal, you have until Sunday at 11:59 PM to file for the previous week.

I had this exact problem last month and couldn't get through on the phone either. Someone on here recommended trying Claimyr (claimyr.com) to help get through to an actual Washington ESD agent. I was skeptical but watched their demo video (https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ) and decided to try it. Got connected to someone in under 10 minutes who helped me file my claim over the phone.

•how much does that cost though? I'm already broke from being unemployed

•It's worth it when you're about to miss your filing deadline. Way cheaper than losing a week of benefits.

•Never heard of this service but if it actually works might be worth checking out

THE WASHINGTON ESD SYSTEM IS GARBAGE!!! This happens EVERY month and they never fix anything. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even file our claims???

•I feel your frustration but yelling won't fix the servers lol

•Sorry I'm just so tired of this. Been unemployed for 4 months and every week is a battle just to file my claim.

•I get it, the stress is real when your rent depends on filing on time

Try using a different browser or your phone instead of computer. Sometimes the mobile version of the Washington ESD site works when the desktop version doesn't.

•Good idea! I'll try that right now.

•The mobile app is terrible though, half the features don't work

This reminds me of when I had issues with my adjudication status showing as pending for weeks. Couldn't get anyone on the phone to explain what was happening. That's actually when I first tried Claimyr - they got me through to someone who explained the hold was because of a job separation issue that needed verification.

•How long did your adjudication take to resolve?

•About 3 weeks total, but once I talked to the agent through Claimyr it got resolved within a few days

•Hopefully! I'll keep checking every hour or so.

•Is there an official Washington ESD status page somewhere that shows when systems are down?

Everyone needs to document these outages and file complaints. This is unacceptable when people's livelihoods depend on filing claims on time. The Washington ESD needs to invest in better infrastructure instead of making excuses.

•Totally agree but in the meantime we still need to file our claims somehow

•At least they don't penalize you if the system is down and you can prove it

Just got through! The system seems to be working again. Filed my weekly claim successfully about 5 minutes ago.

Quick tip - if you're still having issues, try filing between 2-4 AM when traffic is lowest. I've never had problems filing my weekly claims during those hours.

•Good advice but not everyone can stay up that late or wake up that early

•True, but it's an option if you're really stuck and the deadline is approaching

For anyone still having trouble, I had a similar situation last week where I couldn't file until Sunday night. Used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier just to be safe - figured it was better than risking missing the deadline entirely. The peace of mind was worth it.

This thread was super helpful. I was starting to panic thinking I did something wrong. Nice to know it was just system issues affecting everyone.

I'm having the same issue and this thread is so reassuring! I was freaking out thinking I was going to lose my benefits. Trying to file my weekly claim now that it seems like the system is working again. Has anyone else noticed the Washington ESD website gets slower on Fridays when everyone is trying to file at once?

•Yes! Friday afternoons are the worst for the Washington ESD site. I've learned to either file really early in the morning or wait until later in the evening to avoid the rush. It's like everyone procrastinates until Friday and then the servers can't handle the traffic.
